I read on one of the postings here that someone was a saddle maker in their spare time/hobby. I don't remember the name though. Does anyone know who I am talking about?

That would be me ... in another lifetime mr-green
I haven't done any of it in years, but there was a time I had my own custom saddle shop.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

John, do you have any thick sewing needles left. The needles I'm using to sew my soft top are killing me.

Nope...I have very little stuff left...and that little bit of stuff is in storage at my Mother-in-law's house.

I need a step for my wife's side of the jeep and I was thinking of possibly a stirrup and a strap that attaches it to the inside of the tub. Pull it out to use it and then put it back into the tub after you get in. Any ideas where I might find or make such a thing?

I tried the stirrup idea and it didn't work out well. It moves around too much and was unstable. I'd recommend looking for other ideas. I ended up removing my body mounted Sun rocker guards and replaced them with Jeeperman frame mounted rocker guards with a step.

Isn't that what non-cowboys say when trying to learn to ride a horse? lol lol

I grew up riding horses. Stirrups just don't belong on Jeeps though, at least not on mine.

These aren't the exact ones I tried, but they look the same.

I saw those on a rig at the toy run a while back. Very cool. 8)
