Do you have freezer room and does your family like veggie lasagna?
We have been over to the house a couple of times. Freezer space is not an issue. They have a large freezer downstairs that has plenty of room. Parking is a bit of a challenge out front. It is easier if you have somebody drive and then somebody take the food to the front door. Thanks for helping out!

Room in the freezer yes big chest freezer in the basement, veggie lasagna.... Not so sure the kids would eat it though I can make them eat the veggies as side dishes but the whole main dish might be a challenge. Sorry just not sure

There is a trick to parking at my house you can go down the alley right before my street and park there off the road in my driveway or what's left of it with all my projects.

Well today Shaina took a turn for the not so good. She de-satted to 40 and they called a staff emergency to her room she came back on her own they didn't have to resuscitate her but they shipped her up to the PICU where she can be monitored more closely
Wow Mike we are so sorry to hear this. Keep going one step at time. Hold on to each other closely and know you are thought of and prayed for often.

Nothing new to update we have our ups and our downs everyday. We can't leave her there by herself cause we have to watch everything that is going on with her sometimes the nurses can make a tiny mistake and it throughs Shaina for a loop.
She is good smiling, playing she even walked for the first time since November 8th (with help holding her up) the only thing is with kidney failure like she has if her electrolytes go high or low it can be very bad. We were looking to get out and get back to a normal life for her before she needed the kidney transplant but that may not be the case anymore we have started the process of the transplant now it's going to take a few weeks to finish testing my wife and I for compatibility as donors. We are hoping we're both compatible cause she will need a new kidney every 15 years or so for the rest of her life.
I want to thank everyone who has helped my family with dinner's and those who have kept us all in their thoughts and prayers.
We love you all!!!!

Well today makes it 5 months since Shaina has been in the hospital. One of us is always with her I have spent 1 night at our house and my wife has spent 3 nights but other than that we live here with our daughter. Don't want her to wake up or need something and not have mommy or daddy to be there for her. Canaan our baby boy doesn't understand but the older boys do but they are being very strong and understand why we are always there and not at home

Mike, when I was dropping off food this week your mother-in-law told me that Shaina has a six hour pass to go to Easter services and that she is starting to walk with a walker. It was nice to hear she is making some progress. Shaina is lucky to have such caring parents!
Well kind of true we are working to get the pass but we have to make sure she is stable her potassium is back up in the 6 range which is scary cause 7 can stop her heart.
She is starting to walk but it's very hard for her she has to ware ankle braces and be held up while using the walker and can only make it a few yards before she is done. If we do get to take her to church for Easter Sunday we will be very proud to wheel her around like a princess in her wheelchair

So Shaina has been having a lot of bloody stool lately since her reconnection but they couldn't do any exploratory stuff till it had been 6 weeks out from her last surgery and that was today.
So tomorrow she goes under to see what the problem is. Hopefully it's just something simple that will fix itself and we can just move forward with her healing....
I will post up the results tomorrow after her procedure

Sorry I haven't posted up the results of Shainas last procedure so here it goes now.
They found she has some ulcers at her reconnection site but they aren't worried about them and said she will be just fine with them.
We did get that pass Easter Sunday and took her to church. She was very shy at first cause she was in a wheelchair and had to ware a mask but after a while she was singing and dancing to the music It brought tears of joy to me. People we didn't even know came up to Shaina to tell her how happy they were to see her and let us all know they had been praying for all of us.
After church she wanted doughnuts so Krispy Kreme we went and smiles all around. We then went home to see Grandma and have a little Easter egg hunt which Shaina absolutely loved.
The week just keeps getting better too we found out both my wife and I are a perfect match for donating a kidney to Shaina so I'm starting the work up to give my little girl a kidney. Then Shaina got into rehab to start working on being back to normal 4 year old self again

We have a family meeting tomorrow to discuss the our plans for what's to come in the future here at the hospital for Shaina.
Word is we will be discharged on the 17th of this month....
Sounds good but we're not too happy about it. We have a whole hospital looking after Shaina here with nephrology, peds surgery, pediatric Drs, dietitian, chef's and a ton of nurses and they all can't keep Shaina's numbers stead. Right now her potassium is at 5.9 and a level of 7 can stop her heart and with her kidneys still on the decrease we have no idea how quickly their going to slow down and we're scared for her.
I will let you all know the outcome tomorrow after the meeting.
