We still have a few things we have to take care of on her end to get her ready for it so we're thinking mid June hopefully

Ok despite our protest they are giving us the boot next week on the 17th as long as they have us trained to do what nurses have to go to school for years for in the next week and have all of our supply's ready we go home till the transplant.

Needless to say we're pretty worried about it at the same time excited to get her home

I remember when they booted us out of the NICU, we were very scared that we couldn't handle it without the nurses. Our son was barely off the ventilator and just had heart problems and brain bleeds. Scary times... but keep the faith.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

This will make day 2 home with Shaina, it's been stressful, hectic and sleepless nights for my wife. The amount of meds our little girl needs is enough for a small army, feeds and changing throughout the night makes it hard on my wife thanks goodness my father is still here to help with the older boys to get them to and from school. I get the weekend night shifts so I'm in for fun soon.

I'm sure it will get easier as it becomes a normal part of our life just in time for us to go back for the transplant. But we will enjoy all the time we have here at home

Mike, glad to hear you are all home. I have been bringing meals by every Monday or Tuesday, thanks to my wife Kathy who prepares them. We were gone this weekend so I can't come by until Tuesday. Kathy will be making stew for your family tomorrow. Is it okay if I come by on Tuesday to drop it off? I normally come by a little before noon but it really depends on how my day at work is going. If you want me to call before coming by then please PM me the best number to call. We will be glad to continue to bringing meals weekly if that's okay with you.

So we're up over $4,000,000 so far with this whole thing....

Wow!!!!!!

I couldn't believe it's that much but I wouldn't care how much it is I would pay anything for our little girls life.

Thank goodness for medical insurance... Lol

Update:

The transplant surgeon just signed off on the transplant we just need to hear back from Shaina's primary nephrologist which should be later this week and if she says go it's on.

Planning to do the transplant the last week of August so depending how long it takes to get tires on my Jeep I'm might miss this summers wheeling season hopefully back and able to do some fall and snow runs this year thought.

I will keep y'all posted with what Shaina's nephrologist says as soon as we hear something back. Fingers crossed

We just got an email from Shaina's nephrologist today.

She said she had an appointment with the transplant team and they said sounds like everything is going good and if GI does another scope and her ulcers are better then before they are ready to do the transplant and she has definitely had a lot less bleeding.

Shaina's next clinical appointment is Monday and we should find out then when we can get her scoped so we might be doing this very soon.

I will keep y'all posted and I'll be gone another 2 months or so but I will be doing some projects on my rig while I'm home so work parties are coming....

We were waiting on authorization from insurance to do the scope for Shaina's GI bleeding, we finally got it and we are just trying to figure out how to prepare Shaina for the fasting she needs to do before the scope.

So maybe towards the end of the week or next week we will get the scope done and see if we can set a date for the transplant. I will keep y'all posted

Ok so we did Shaina's scope today and everything looked good with the ulcers she had but they noticed some scare tissue polyps that they wanted to cauterise which we said go for it. They decided to keep Shaina over night because as they said "it's Shaina that's the only reason" so one more night in UC Davis tonight.

But everyone is onboard for the transplant so it's on we have a set date of September 12th for transplant.

The count down is on 18 days!!

So much for that idea...

Transplant got postponed till who knows when Shaina has the sniffles and they said with the transplant Shaina will have zero immune system and a simple cold could kill her or even if they could save her life she would loose the kidney and it wasn't worth it which we agree on. I'll keep y'all posted on any new dates

Wow Mike, what an emotional roller coaster. It was great to see you get out on the trail last Saturday. Any chance you can make the Slick Rock run now that the transplant has been postponed?
