Is it still smoky down the hill? It's crummy up here. Not as bad as it was, but after a solid week of pretty hazy skies, my eyes are really bugging me. I hear there isn't much progress on the fires on the American River side of things because they aren't threatining many homes. 🙁 I'm tired of waking up and smelling smoke.

Offline It's been much better in Folsom since last weekend. The sky isn't red at sunrise and sunset. We can pretty much see blue sky. But it is still a bit hazy.

In meadow vista and colfax they said that there is a chart of the particles in the air, it goes to 300. It is like over that, off the charts. here is a pic i took a few days ago. That hill is maybe 1/4 mile away. its a little better now, but not much.

Offline Its back . . . It is really smokey here in Folsom again. The news said its suppose to get worse too.

I spent the weekend at my parents in Clear Lake. Saturday was really nice, then I came home and it's really bad again.

Offline We went to Six Flags yesterday and it felt pretty hot there, but the smoke wasn't as bad as here.
I've got the trailer loaded now and we are taking off for the high sierras to escape some of this smoke and find some temps in the low 80's vs over 100. My daughter is looking forward to doing some fishing, so I hope we have some luck.

You better go pretty high, I live at 4,000 feet on the 50 side and it's really smoky there, but it's 10-15 degrees cooler than in the valley.

Nevada isnt any better, at least in Reno. I was up there last weekend and the wind blew all the smoke out of california to nevada. coming back through donner and blue canyon on 80 was terrible, the worst i have ever seen. Smoke was a little better today in Auburn, but the heat didnt make it any better.

Just a side note, there's no )#*(%$& fish in that lake. It seems like you have to be 12 and under to catch a fish in that lake. Everytime I fish, I'm mostly baiting hooks for the younger ones after they catch fish after fish, and my pole just sits there, loosing it's bait.

Orange sun up here today. 🙁 I got out of the car at work and it smelled like smoke. I have to go up the hill today. I was really hoping it was going to be nice.
