Baseball has a World Series, Basketball has a Championship Series, why in the heck can't football have a Super Bowl Series? Deciding the world champions with a single game seems stupid mr-green

156 baseball games/7 in a series is 22 games, plus play offs for each world series game. Football is 16 games plus play offs, well under the baseball ratio. Hence, no series.

I can see that football is more physicaly damaging than the other sports, so there may be something to do with injuries and such. But I'd like to at least see a three game Super Bowl series to find out who the best team is, not just the best team on that day, or the team the refs want to give it to ... think Seahawks afew years back mr-green

Hmmm...this thread seems to be fueled by sour grapes. 😀 If the Super Bowl were more than one game it would really take away a bunch of the fan fare that surrounds it. Everybody has Super Bowl parties. I can't remember the last time I heard of a World Series party.

Do football fans really need an excuse to gather and drink?
