Kings needed this more than anything.
Lakers, while a great team, imo needs to be stripped down and rebuilt. It sort of is with Jackson now passing the torch. But its hard to forget the really poor sportsmanship from the Playoffs with the Mavericks last year. Thankfully Berea (sp?) didn't get seriously injured. Karma seemed to have worked with Odom going to the Mavs though.... Bynum needs a much longer suspension, I think. /rant

No doubt the Kings have a more athletic roster, and it is fairly deep. Both will be needed in this "compacted" season.
