I've been thinking about getting a samsung smart tag to put in the bronco as a inexpensive locator if it ever gets stolen. They supposedly work by "pinging" off of other Samsung phones to report its location back to you if you mark it as missing from the app on your phone. They run off a watch battery that is reported to last roughly 1 year. Apple has a similar item, the air tag. I was curious if has anyone had any experience with these and to see if they work as well as stated in their advertisements. They are only around $30 with no monthly fees. I know the obvious choice would be to get a gps designed for car tracking, but those are more expensive and involve monthly fees, and was just trying to think of alternatives.
