Awhile back, Fred said if anyone had the time and wanted to create and update the look of the website to go ahead. This is what John and I created. Updated look and much easier to navigate. If you like it let us know and I can get Fred the files to update it. If not, no biggie. It only took me an hour or so to put it together.

I like it Rob. A new look is always refreshing, plus it is pretty easy to navigate.

Looks fine to me. I like the rotating picture on our front page now. Can you work that in?

I suppose you could, but to me it is annoying. Everytime that picture changes, it refreshes your screen, and if your reading the text, it pulls you back to the picture, plus it takes for ever to go through the pictures. That is what a picture galery is for.

I like the quick links and think the scrolling news bar is a winner. I'm not sure what you can do so far as rotating pictures on the rt side bar. I do like the rotating pictures (as Keane mentions). It may be becasue my T-1 line doesn't have the delay I see at home. What about color scheme? I like the gray/black text combo (old site), but like the yellow main colors (new site). Since the club is a "family oriented" 4wd club, is it possible to get a mix of pictures showing all different facets of the club (Stuff like, our camping trips, fishing pics, snow runs, etc)?

It looks like you and John have put in some effort with this. Very nice! 8)

I think it looks good. What html software did you use? What's involved if we would need to create more buttons like on the left side?

One of the problems I ran into with the old website Troy set up was trying to create/maintain the buttons.

I like the rotating picture because it shows a little of everybody. That way it's not just a couple of people in all the pictures.

Microsoft Front page, and I will let you use my copy to load onto your computer. I will load the files onto a thumb drive and get it to you if you want to go ahead with it..

I would suggest going back to an intro page with the rotating photos and have an enter site here link like Troy originally had, that way it doesn't interupt your reading of the text.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll pass on using your copy of Frontpage. If I don't own it I don't use it. I've been using the free opensource version of NVU so far. Do you think it would work with your version of the website? Here's a link to it - http://nvudev.com/index.php .

i think the overall look that you guys designed is good. typical frontpage template. nothing wrong with that. has anyone given any thought to creating posse4x4 into a webportal? You can check out what i mean by portal on http://www.templatemonster.com/website- ... qq4et25vo1

i think this method of presenting a web site is cool.

All the fancy stuff looks great, but my concern would be how much time and effort it would take to set up and maintain. My background is in operating system administration, not so much in web site design and support. I've been getting by ok with a pretty basic web site layout. There would definitely be a learning curve to get something set up. And, we need to keep in mind that someone else may end up being website administrator too. My opinion is we need to keep things simple so we're not locked in to one person being administrator. K.I.S.S.

This sounds good. Will you be at the meeting this week? If so I'll bring my computer. Or, if it wouldn't be too big, you could zip everything up and email it to me.

Most of the stuff will work, but the ticker at the top and the buttons are all part of the Front Page program, and you will not be able to tweak them.. Front page is very simple to use and also has some very advanced features. I vote the club buys Front page and puts the license in the Posse name. Who ever is currently the web master uses the copy under the clubs name.
