I know that on the Treasure Hunters forum, the occassional posters quit. Then it got down to just a few regulars, and now there hasn't been a post over there in months. I was the last couple of posts and never got a reply.
I hope this forum doesn't die that way. But, with posters like we have, I'm sure we can keep it interesting enough to keep everybody coming back. But, if it wasn't for the silly fun we have, I'm thinking it would eventually die too. The actual "tech" stuff gets pretty lean after everybody has built there rigs and running the same trails all the time doesn't lead to exciting discussion.
Thoughts?
I used to wheel a lot. . .

There's nothing wrong with "silly fun" as long as it fits in with what the Posse 4x4 Club is all about.
The forums were split up into the different categories before I was elected to manage them. It would seem there was an intent to keep certain types of content to relevant discussions and to allow for a place for "silly fun".
I don't see any problem with occasional off topic posts in the topic specific forums, but to have several pages of off topic posts with no relevant content is too much. Try to think about it from an occasional poster/readers' standpoint. If, for example, someone like Rod or Earl who don't frequently come on the board wanted to find out about the Barret Lake run, do you think they'd want to read through dozens of pages of x2's, gay references, and I-80/hwy50 banter?
We've got our romper room for silly fun so post up all the club acceptable content in the Chit-Chat forum you want. There's nothing wrong with the other forums being lean as long as they're relevant.
If the club members want to take all our forums to the all-Chit-Chat-all-the-time direction that's fine with me and I'll stop trying to keep things on track.
And, the webmaster position comes up for election this January. I would encourage anyone who's interested to get themselves nominated. It would not hurt my feelings one bit to turn this over to someone else.

Boy oh boy...being sensitive???
I didn't mean anything by the "silly" comment. It's just that it seems to keep the forum hopping. I'm fine with the chit chat staying in chit chat. I don't mind getting sent to the corner for a time out now and again. I'm a big boy and I know I deserve it sometimes π
