My dog decided to play a little game of chase-the-skunk 🙄

He got a full blast right in the face. What's the best treatment for this (stinky)???

I used to wheel a lot. . .

Yep, lots of tomato juice. I've heard of a product at Petco that's suppposed to work pretty well; but I've also heard tomato juice works the best.

I remember the tomato juice trick from the old Partridge Family episode when they all got sprayed while camping.

Acording to everything I've read today, tomato juice does not work! They end up smelling like skunk/tomato.

The concensus seems to be hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and liquid soap.

"Skunk B Gone" is the best product I have used. I have a couple bottles up here if you need them.

Another thing we use is Baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and a de-greasing Dawn dish soap missed together. The idea is to get the oil from the skunk off the dog fur. The baking soda and the hydrogen peroxide neutralize the smell and the Dawn gets the oil off the fur.

Thanks Rob. I've used skunk-b-gone before. It works pretty decent. I also read about the peroxide, soda, and detergent. We went the easy route and took him to the dog groomers before the game and picked him up at half time. He smells fine now.
