The Eldorado National Forest will be submitting applications for Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Cooperative Funds for the upcoming 2018/2019 grant cycle.

The Forest Service will be hosting an Open House on Tuesday February 6, 2017, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM to discuss the proposed preliminary grant applications. This Open House will be held at the Eldorado National Forest Supervisor's Office, 100 Forni Road, Placerville, CA 95667.

Our trail will be re-opened by the time this grant cycle starts.  That said, I will be asking about getting funding for signage and maybe some stuff to build some dispersed campsites on the trail.  If any of you can make it feel free to stop by.

Chris - By the time I get off work & fight traffic, it would be close to 7:00P. I'll see if Lynda wants to attend & let you know.

Lynda and I talked with a few people at the open house including Sean Mcguiness who was head of the trail work on Deer Valley.  He is planning on some helicopter drops for the big rock to get it the necessary 7.5 miles in the trail (grant funding as the rocks are a little big for even the rock trailers) followed by a few trail work weekends later in the summer.  We should be on their contact list.

Kyle wasnt there to talk to but we did talk with Tim (forgot his last name) who does the road engineering for Strawberry.  I am still trying to get a firm answer as to what remains to be done on the trail but we might be trailering some rock after all if the road crew cant get back in and some significant work remains.

There was also some discussion about revising the adopt-a-trail agreements to help them cover their asses which may allow us to do/request grant funds for more stuff.  I will have an update for the meeting tomorrow.
