Been reading various media about this but still a little fuzzy on something. By today's technology and communication methods (e.g., internet, phone, ham, etc.) How does one find a trail's responsible jurisdiction and therefore status? Status in this case meaning access in terms of open/closed, seasonal, vehicle type, and related.
Is there a one stop shop such as National forest service? Other entities like county?
This is new to me, hence the questions.
Thanks

I was unable to locate a single "catch all" trail status source. I have found that each forest has their own informatuon typicall.
Let's see what I could find.
General information: http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/eldorado/
Forest-wide information (supports multiple areas and multiple issues): http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/eldorado/docume ... create.htm
Check towards the bottom for many trails and campgrounds.
Hope this helps!
