Iv always liked Toyota's. I have only had newer ones. 05 tacoma and 14 4runner. Wish they had solid axles. Sounds like an awesome rig!
My dad has a sweet 1st gen taco ('01) that is 3 linked, inchwormed, diamond axles, on 38s etc... very awesome truck. I had an '07 Taco that I wanted to build up for crawling... but I learned a few things... 1) The frames on the 2nd gen tacos are not stable enough to build a crawler on. You would need to add a bunch of frame stiffners and crossmembers and 2) it was REALLYYY expensive to do a SAS on it and keep all of the ABS and electronics working properly. That, and I was getting tired of making sure everything I took wheeling had to be weather proofed lol. Hence why I have a 4runner now!

Hey Tyler are those pics from the father's day run at hell hole?
Haha 3 of them are! One is up on mormon emigrant back in early december before we got the massive snow dumps. I pretty much live up on MET during snow times.
While i am in Ireland, my fabricator is working on a couple of things... just making a few things stronger and less likely to break. Im not normally a huge fan of flexing out rigs unless its done on the trail, so i have never done a flex ramp or metalcloaks cti trailer... but my fabricator was curious and sent me these pictures. Thought you guys might enjoy.

Added hood cowls this morning. First time ever playing with an angle grinder.... it's addicting haha
I'm not 100% satisfied with the outcome, but for about $35 I am thrilled (that includes the price on the harbor freight grinder haha). If I ever get around to painting the truck my dream neon green, the screws will blend in much better and give it more of a finished look. For now, it will stay the way it is.
Laid out the cowls and taped around where I wanted them.
Measured in 1 inch from all sides
Fully installed and back on. Now, the electric fan should be able to easily push the hot air through the engine bay while crawling and steep inclines.

While up at Niagara Rim last weekend, i decided to take the doors off for the weekend. Hopefully this was going to tell me if i wanted to make some half doors or tube doors. Turns out i love wheeling without doors haha. I finally get what all you jeepers keep going on about! So i decided to alter my door hinges and make quick disconnects this morning. Love the way they turned out.
New top hinge/pin original hinge.
It was pretty easy once i figured out all the measurements and how to remove/dismantle the old hinge/pin. Made myself some removeable doors in about 2 hours. And only needed 2 trips to lowes lol
