Hey Logan I don't know what kind of budget you have but I ran into this today and thought I would pass it along to you. 2 cherokee's for the price of 1 they are asking $1500 but I think you could get them down to $1000 without trying to hard
Where is this at? I see ARB stickers... Dad might need to help the lad out.

South area like Modesto Stockton something like that. I'll be in that area tomorrow and take a look under it and see what's there for you. Any special request pics I'll get those too
Mainly if it has lockers (front / rear).
If you talk with them, years, running, etc. Get me a phone number.
Thanks,
Brian

I called and talked to one of the employees (not John the owner). Both are 1992's. Wrecked lifted one starts and runs, stock one won't start, and has not been registered since 2011. Only sold as a pair. Still thinking about it...
I got word on a free Cherokee in Placerville. Going to get some info on it today. Might need to start a XJ parts house in Garden Valley. My wife is going to strangle me.

Lots of action on the Cherokee farm. We got the "free" one in Placerville for $100. It needs a little cooling work and an ignition switch. Body is straight. Good timing on getting this as Logan got in a fender bender (he was t-boned) at low speed in his original Cherokee. Doors still open and close, but it needs some help.
He is becoming quite the car salesman. He decided to sell the new (older) one he just got to a friend in his auto shop class for $800. $700 profit, with about an hours work into it. With this, we started putting the lift on the old original 1996. With the lift kit 1/2 installed (Rear - done, Front - stock removed) , another friend wants to buy it, stock (and dented) for $1000.
Sooooooooo, back to stock it goes, and Logan wants the two in Modesto. I figure he will be $1500 ahead in the end. Guess we are towing those from Modesto to Georgetown next week and becoming Cherokee body experts.
Fun.

Im not going to be able to do it cause what's going on with our daughter in the hospital, I try to be here every minute I can. You could ask Brent he and I work at the same place. our company is pretty cool like that when ever we have needed to tow something on our own time.
A second option is our newest prospect member or soon to be Rachel she works at a tow company and since there's 2 at one location going to the same location she might be able to get you a deal too.

The 1990 jeep cherokee i got for 100 sold it for 900 not running.
The 1996 jeep cherokee i got for 100, got t-boned in it. Friday morning a kid from school offered me 1000 for it stock.
The lift i was putting on the 1996 i got for 1000 selling it for 900 to the kid who bought the 1990.
And now i am planning on getting those 2 from the tow yard

We picked up those two from the tow yard in Modesto for $1200. Two trips with a trailer over the past two weeks. The stocker fired right up after disabling the security system. Only bad it is the back fees, soooooooo it will be parted to fix the lifted one.
Logan has already stripped the front fenders and smashed bumper, radiator, etc from the lifted one. Moved the ECU over from the stocker (as the original was in several pieces). Replaced a fuse and started it this weekend. He will be swapping the seats and doors over, and I am bringing it to a friend to pull out the inner fender and determine if it should just be cut and replaced (just so happen to have one to cut if needed).
The lift is a short arm with added blocks in the rear, and ACOS coil spacers up front. Will more than likely move the long arm kit to it now. It looks like both lifts end up around 5 1/2 to 6 inches. He wants to be ready for the first snow run, so he might wait for summer to swap lifts.
Thanks Mike for the tip on them!!!

Busy, busy, busy. Logan and friend have been working on Cherokees and finding all kinds of treasures...
The original plan of fixing the lifted one using the stocker parts has fallen through. DMV wanted $500 to license the wrecked one, or $700 for the stocker. We decided to lift the stocker and strip the lifted. No salvage cert, less miles, and its a Limited with Gold Emblems !
First off notice anything here? Two things of importance. 1) that's not a D35 or D44... I believe it is a Ford 8.8, now to calculate the gears. Logan found an electrical connector on top of the diff, hoping it is a e-locker. 2) that skid plate over the gas tank is steel. Found this as the stocker tank has a small hole, so swapping tanks over now as well.
Plan at this point is getting the stocker running good with the new tank. It had the mechanical fan bypassed, which we have re-installed off of the other and have that working now. Give it a good thousand mile shake-down, then install the long arm kit and swap the axles and transfer case (with the SYE installed). He actually got both motors running, so that was awesome to know he has a complete running spare (minus the destroyed ECU in the wrecked one).
We drove home another 1989 Cherokee that someone donated for parts. He is selling that one to his friend that bought the 1990 from him earlier. This new one has nice interior and a good fuel tank and pump which his friend needed. It has $1000 in back fees, so stripping is the best option. His friend is also buying the short arm kit from the one we are stripping. Yes, there are 4 Cherokees in my yard now. All white.

That is a ford 8.8 but the drum brakes mean it is from an early explorer or ranger. Sorry but the electrical connector on the top of the pumpkin is for an ABS-type sensor that reads a tone ring on the carrier. If he plans to replace the fluid, then pull the diff cover to check for the gear ratio. My guess will be 3.55 since that would have been the factory front ratio but maybe someone pulled a lower geared front end out of something for it. There will be numbers stamped on the ring gear, typically infront of a small ford logo. For Example:
