Out of desperation, I ended up taking my Jeep to Folsom Lake Dodge last week for service. I went in with a variety of issues including a check engine light, an exhaust leak, rough idle, stalling when cold, and excessive burning oil. I have the lifetime powertrain warranty on my JK, so I expected that most of this should be covered.
The shop diagnosed 2 primary issues, a faulty ECU, and a leaking manifold (likely cracked). They had to order the ECU, which was covered under warranty, and when I went to pick up the jeep, they told me they attempted to fix the manifold unsuccessfully, but it was cracked so it would have to be replaced. I told them that I believed the warranty should cover it, so the service manager went to check. When he came back, he had the nerve to tell me that it was indeed covered, but they were not going to replace it until after replacing the ECU. then they would determine if it really needed to be replaced! Somehow, this must fall into some type of consumer fraud!
So a week later, I took the jeep back to get the ECU installed. At this point they told me that when they replaced the ECU, it was dirty, and looked like mud was on the firewall near the ECU. He informed me that he should submit the ECU to Chrysler for analysis to see if the dirty ECU violated my Warranty! It's a phreakin jeep you idiots! god forbid that I get my jeep dirty!!! Eventually, after pretending that he was doing me a huge favor by not turning me in to Chrsyler, they went ahead and replaced the ECU, and the manifold.
Now a week later, my check engine light is back on, car is idling rough again, and I'm still burning oil.
Okay...done with rant...for now anyways.
Any suggestions on a decent Jeep dealership in the area?

The isssue I believe is the lifetime warranty that many 08 and 09 JK's came with. Mine just had it's 5-yr inspection and they voided my t-case becuase of mods. But they kept my emmissions system which is the item I wanted. I also have the motor and tranny lifetime warranty approved. Not bad given how many mods I have on my jeep.

Based on the number of positive things I've heard about Magnussen, I think for my 5 year inspection I am going to make the trek to Auburn. I would hate to see what Folsom Dodge would say about my mods, considering they threatened my warranty because my engine is dirty. Hopefully, I can at least get the current issues resolved with them, as they are 5 min from my work, so it is quite convenient getting my jeep there.

Maybe they will void your axles, but it shouldn't affect your T-case hopefully..
The guys inspecting my jeep knew very little about modifications so they didn't have problems with my cold air intake, custom exhaust, hydro assist steering pump, or otherthings on my motor.

They will inspect your vehicle to determine which components are still valid for your lifetime warranty.
Items you have under the powertrain:
Emissions system
Motor
Tranny
T-case
Axles
With your jeep you should be able to have everything covered for another 5 years. the compliance inspection is every 5 years.

Only had 1.5 good experiences there. Rebuild rear LSD and their oil change package deal. Every other time was an attempt to run up the invoice for things they couldn't substantiate. Its been about 2 years since.
Parts dept was neither good/bad. I've ended up going to Roseville Chrysler for my parts needs. Very knowledgeable guys especially Mopar Performance side of things. Also they'll apply the club discount if you are a current member.
Hope your issues resolve.

Well, final outcome is somewhat mixed. While I did have to take it back a few times, they ultimately did fix the 2 main problems I took it to them for (stalling when cold, exhaust leak), and did it entirely under warranty. However, the customer service as awful from the get go, and only got worse on my last visit when they told me I needed a new gas cap to fix the check engine light. When I asked how much, he quoted me $20 for the cap, but said that they would do me a favor and not charge for the install. It's a good thing, casue I can only imagine what it must cost to install a gas cap!!!
If I am desperate to get something fixed, and it is obviously a warranty item, I might consider going back there just because it's so convenient (I will definitely ask for Donna though). For anything else, like my 5 year inspection, I think I'll make the trek up to Auburn.
