I know George said he would have more info at the meeting tomorrow, but for planning purposes are these runs now off?

Eldorado National Forest dirt roads and trails will remain seasonally closed to motorized vehicle use until April 30, announced Forest Supervisor Kathy Hardy.
"This is a difficult time of the year to predict exactly when we can lift the seasonal dirt road and trail closure, said Hardy. “Our soil scientist is checking the condition of the roads and reporting back to me on a regular basis. I want to open the routes as soon as the weather forecast is favorable and the clay based roads can withstand the traffic.”
The Eldorado National Forest has been seasonally closed to wheeled motor travel on dirt roads and trails since January 1. The routes are closed to prevent erosion, protect road beds, and maintain water quality. When the seasonal closure is lifted, it will be lifted for all dirt roads and trails in the Eldorado with the exception of the 42 routes recently closed by a court order and trails in the Rock Creek area near Georgetown. Rock Creek has its own site specific closure process. Information about the court ordered closed routes can be obtained on the Eldorado National Forest website at: http://www.fs.usda.gov/eldorado.

Speaking only for myself, I say we leave them on the calendar until either (1) we get a definitive answer the 42 trails are closed or (2) no answer is obtained within 2 weeks of the event. That way we keep the dates and need only to find an alternative locations for our runs.
May 20th is still 6 weeks out and a lot can happen in that time ... or not.

So far the answer is "no, the runs are not off".
The seasonal closure is extended to April 30th, the maintenance run is May 20th, so it is not impacted unless they extend the seasonal closures again. As far as the legal proceedings go, I've been working very closely with them and the Forest Service is talking about giving us a "Special Access Permit" to perform the trail maintenance.
Also, the judge may have a ruling by then, we'll have to wait and see. Two Rangers who have been heavily involved in the entire process over the years will be at our May meeting on the 10th. We'll be able to ask all of these questions before the run. 😀

That's not how I read/understand it but I'm glad to hear you're optimistic! 😀
If we rely solely on data and statistics to guide us to the future, we would have surrendered and the British would have won. We have intelligence, optimism and tenacity on our side.
