Work just gave me the OK to take that day off so I will be there. I'll be in a Gladiator so I have room to haul some gear. I might have a kid or two with me, but I'm happy to provide a seat or two!
Great! I know the focus is Sierra Trek until Monday, but Kris will appreciate the extra seats!

Just an update. After Kris pre-ran the trail, it is suggested everyone bring D-rings and recovery straps. Hopefully vehicles have a locker or 2, and at least a couple have winches. It was said that erosion has created challenging portions of Strawberry - just an FYI.
I've got a winch, some recovery gear, front locker and a gear driven limited slip(the factory one was trash) in the rear. I could use an address to show up to. I googled the forest service and got several possibilities for the area. Other than that I'm looking forward to it!

Confirmed, will be there & can carry 2. Will have chainsaw & equipment to clear if needed.
I'll be bringing the Gladiator, so plenty of room for equipment.
Switching to Jeep resulting from Kris warnings about washouts on both trails. Still will have 2 available seats. Will bring chainsaw & straps if space allows.

Just an FYI, I think Kris was saying there are washouts and your Gladiator will drag, but since you have a Rubicon and a winch you'd be ok. So you can choose either vehicle - must be nice to have choices!

Yesterday was a success!!
There were 9 people from the Forest Services that tagged along with us.
Kris, hopefully, you can provide more details. I wasn't able to capture all their names and positions.
We drove Long Canyon, stopping to look at what repairs and updates are needed there. Then we made our way to Strawberry Trail, stopping to have lunch at the North entrance. They were very impressed with the new kiosk.
We made our way along the entire Strawberry trail, again, stopping and pointing out what needs to be repaired and updated.
The Forest Service group was very enthusiastic to work with us.
The weather was amazing. It was a cool 61 degrees with scattered showers (a few drops fell on us) throughout.
We took off from the FS office around 9AM, returning around 5PM. There were 5 rigs total. All seats were filled!! So fun.
I will post my pictures!
Big thanks to those that could help. (Welcome Travis!).
"No beans!"

Just adding a little bit before Kris provides the larger write up.
We had Linda Babcock and Kris with myself and Kathleen in our Bronco. Linda asked questions on everything for the entire trip! Kris narrated the Strawberry trail a la Jungle Cruise and did a fantastic job.
There were 5 vehicles in total. GHP had 3, one was the long Canyon club (Dave), and Del Albright brought his wife's jeep. We had 9 USFS (and support staff). Basically it was all the staff that reports to Lynda.
We ran Long Canyon first, with Dave leading and stopping at his critical spots, as well as a key campground. There were campers present and a dog that some have video recorded who was entertaining himself.
There were actually two fun sections on long canyon, but the trail is overgrown, and the top section we did not run was the worst according to Dave - it has downed trees across the trail. I offered our help because it seems like their club isn't too engaged with keeping the work current. Maybe we can do a group day up there to try and improve it.
We ran over to Strawberry and ran that next. The trail was largely graded but also had two challenging spots. We don't have trimming/cutting/clearing problems like Long Canyon.
Kris can explain next steps but the USFS had a critical meeting at 9AM today, and needed all of the clubs pictures taken yesterday forwarded to them. Hopefully our efforts helped out!
Travis was new and this was his first run. His Gladiator on 37s did great. Guy, as usual, had little problems in his gladiator on 35s. Everyone else completed both trails with no problems, breakage, or difficulties. We aired up at the CalTrans maintenance station at 5 and were back to the the ranger station in 1 hr.

A group of us went up long canyon last weekend and cut all of the trees on the upper part of the trail and then did strawberry. Glad you all had a good time with no trouble.
Thanks!
Even Dave from the Long Canyon club did not know the trees had been cleared.
I'm sure it's quite overgrown up top as well, so maybe we can still help out making the trail more passable.
