Just a heads up... The Hi Landers did some maintenance on gatekeeper this weekend. The massive hole that tips you over into the tree has been filled in with wooden rounds. They will probably get soft, dissolve, compress, etc through winter, and then get chewed up and spit out by people once the trail opens up next year. But, in the mean time, gatekeeper is about as difficult as the Rubicon's gatekeeper. So, if getting tipsy on gatekeeper has kept you from going on Barrett Lake in the past, then now is a great time to go up and run the trail before they shut the gate for the winter!
