Cool pictures. Looks like some nice snow. It makes me wish I still had the 4runner.

I don't think they would make any positive difference. In my case it was a matter of clearance and becoming a snow plow up front when the snow got too deep. Otherwise, I had no problems.

Low tire pressure and wide tires are the key to running in deep snow. You want to stay on top of the snow. Driving on pavement, you want skinny tires to cut to the pavement. When I snow wheel, I run around 3 or 4 pounds of pressure. The wider and softer the better.

i have the same ground clearance as you, and you did better. i know i drive like crap, but in a str8 line i was having problems. i was only at 13psi and that might be it. if the jeep hit any resistance at all the jeep would start to dig in. i have as set of all terrains that might be better than the mud tires but im not sure. i might have to do a myth busters on tire tread patterns and snow wheeling.

I was running the old style MTRs at 9psi and ARBs front and rear (don't remember if you have lockers front and rear).

Tire pressure is the key.

I used to wheel a lot. . .
