Even if they get a lot of melt up there, it still sounds like it's going to be a long night of wheeling, shoveling, winching, wrenching and cold. Then there is sleeping in a tent that just doesn't sound pleasant with snow on the ground. I'll wait for warmer weather and exposed rocks
Yes, I'm getting soft in my old age and just want to do what is enjoyable. I've had enough snow adventures.

Is anyone still interested in still trying to get to Ellis Creek?
It's getting close, maybe everyone that was planning to go can update there status.
Sorry for the confusion Larry. I made some assumptions from the meeting that may not have been correct. I had "assumed" the round up was cancelled after the feedback on the rubicon status thread and the meeting update. However, we may not have officially cancelled the run.
If you are keeping the weekend/roundup plan in place rather than re-scheduling in to July (I thought that was the outcome at the meeting), We could try to get there but my group may have smaller rigs since I invited everyone. With some decent snow melt this week, Ellis could be reachable.
So, my post is only for a day run, not to conflict with the round up.
Sorry

Jeff, hook up with Brad's group on Saturday. Jeff this just has been a weird year with all the weather.
I'm not going. The are only two people i have heard from still interested in going. I not willing to spend all the money on a chance it will be clear.
Justin, I liked your idea about just trying to get to Ellis Creek. But again its a gamble.
I talked with Joe and Sue last night and they are out also.
So I guess what I'm saying is this run is CANCELED.
Sorry.

Did anyone see the article in the Bee about how Global Warming has changed the gulf stream and resulting Sierra spring snow? The weather for the last two years might be the new normal. This is something for discussion at the next meeting, but we might want to plan our runs accordingly. More Sierra runs in the Fall and others in the Spring. I did the Rubicon in September and there were no mosquitoes.

DANG!!! I wish I had know this sooner. 😡 I would have gone but made other plans because I thought everybody was canceling the camping idea. 😥
I got a message from my cousin last night that he made it to Ellis this week with no problems. He said the snow is melting fast and talked to Merlin who thinks Buck Island should be doable within a week. 8)
I know a couple of the Zombie Club members are heading up this weekend to cut the trail with Rockwells and 40+" tires. 😀
