TRAIL RUN DATES – AUGUST 15-17. This run will leave Sacramento area in the early Morning on the 15th, and drive all the way to Shaver lake gas station, arriving around lunch time. We’ll eat in Shaver, gas up and head out to the trail. We will run part of the trail and camp for the night. The odds are we will be near trail end, the next day. The current plan is to camp near the trail exit, head out Sunday Am, gassing up in Shaver again and drive home. This run is 100 miles between gas – plan accordingly! 32 of the 100 miles is off-road driving. Many vehicles require additional fuel on this run. The expectation is we will return Sunday later morning. If our group is small and up for it, we may do some night wheeling the first night!
———————- Post up to confirm your attendance. It looks like John (Scoped), and myself are the core people to this point. Chime in one you’ve confirmed you can attend. I can Pick up John in Galt on the way. We should have seats if you’d like to ride along as well, but work that out with each driver… I’ll try to see if my seat is open ASAP and post back.
This is a long and remote trail. Be sure your rig is serviced and ready to go ahead of time.
Please post, confirming you are prepared for night running as well!

Ok, I have revised the dates/timing of the run AND introduced the change that there will be night wheeling as part of our efforts.
The run is a day less than before (since we have a club meeting Thursday).
These are material changes to the run - so please confirm you can attend and are ok with the new direction.
With interest, we will do the run. If not, I fully understand. Please be prepared with rock/offroad lights!

Here is one example. Search and you can find others. Mine were expensive but I've seen motorcycle 12v systems for as little as $50.

Excellent!
I tested my rock and off road lights this past weekend. Everything worked fine.
My winch never made it back so I have a full CO2 tank and recovery strap/D rings.
I plan to get my new rear DL and upgraded swaybar end links Thursday. Then I'll be ready to go. Only food and packing left.
I'm figuring about 815 to meet up with you.

Thank you Brad for planning this making the trek and dealing with my how did I end up in this situation at like 2 am
– it was a good time I have been told Brad is a night Wheeler and will golong into the night - he told me to tell him when to stop. We aired down and started shortly after 1pm Brad had me lead and we made one stop for about 20-30 min shortly after 7pm to eat then we set back out we took one more break for about 10 min sometime between 10-11pm I think? As I needed a stretch. We started up again and I never said stop and about 3am we were at the end of the trail – took a few hour nap and headed home.
– pretty sure Brad made it out just fine I however put a big new dent in my rear bumper, tacoed my license plate, ripped off my rear driver fender, put a huge scratch down the rear driver door all the way to under the gas filler, and my driver door hold strap broke and put a dimple in the cowl extension.
I tried to upload some photos but it says they were to large
