We will be meeting at the Pollock Pines Subway. Exit Hwy 50 at Sly Park Rd. go under freeway to 6529 Pony Express Trl. Pollock Pines CA 95726. Then we will Head up to the trail head at 9:00. If you do plan on going on this trip please post in this thread so we can get a rig count. Due to the possible high quantity of rigs, this run is reserved for Club Members, Prospects, and those who attend the club meetings only. If we have enough rigs we just might split up and do a two-sided attack, HWY 50 & 88. Be sure to bring gloves and if you have them, a hand saw or branch loppers. Depending on progress, most likely we will have a great noonday lunch stop on the trail at "V" rock. Bring a lunch and plenty of fluids to drink. The Fall Strawberry Trail Maintenance run is first and foremost to maintain the trail, the total focus will be to trim, cut, and clear the trail of brush, branches and fallen trees so the trail is looking good and stays maintained.

For your safety and the safety of others, please ensure your vehicle meets the minimum club vehicle requirements and any additional posted requirements before attending any club trail runs. Vehicles not meeting the requirements will not be allowed on the club trail run. If you plan to attend a club trail run please post in the forum under the specific club trail run topic. As a refresher, please review the club etiquette and safety tips.

See you all there,

If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.

We also need one to remove the upper club sign, and a tall vehicle.

We will need loppers, and pole saws will be a help. We will also need cordless drills and a couple sacks of cement, water, one additional 6' ladder and the chainsaws.

The trail master and other club officers will be splitting the attendees in to 3 groups for the work, and they will determine who is in each group.

John DF may request additional items based on the kiosk needs. There will be some Boy Scouts also helping with the kiosk work.

Just a thought, If someone has one of those mini 1000 watt generators, might be good to have for the kiosk work. Or a 12v - 110 power convertor as a backup.

BKGM Jeepers said We need chainsaws from David and myself.

Others could bring a chainsaw it just only forest service authorized can run it on the trail. Wouldn't hurt to have at least one back up saw.

If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.

I have a small inverter. Guy is getting a generator but I don't know timing. The saws could still be used on strawberry canyon sine the maintenance run doesn't officially cover it and we have one tree there. Back up is also a great idea!

I can get a cordless saw in my jeep...

I wasn't going to bring water. I've built tons of structures and fences that use posts and I never use water. I just pack it tight, brace it, and let the ground water and weather harden it over time. But if somebody wants to bring water I'm fine with that too.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

I finally got the overheating and low oil pressure bugs all worked out of the TJ. It passed smog on Tuesday, so I should be good to go now. I will probably need to bug out early again. Same reason as the last 2 years, Sundays in the Fall I have musical practice... Yes, I sing and dance in a Christmas Musical every year. Practice starts at 2:00 in Placerville. Some Sundays I do get off, but do not know until the Tuesday / Wednesday of that week. Is there anything that is still needed?

Bummer, I actually have to wake up early and drive to Pollock Pines now...
