This is always a fun event. No 4 wheel drive vehicle needed, but it's fun to bring one.

DECEMBER 7, 2024

37th Annual 4×4 Gold Country Toy Run
Hosted by Hi-Landers 4WD Club

This event is open to everyone and is always a lot of fun!

Bring camping chairs, blankets, pop-ups, fire pits, heaters, your wallets and that positive attitude.  This event is for a great cause and the main resource for our club’s ability to donate toys and food for families in need.  In addition to the club donations, each member is encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy or two.  The toy cost is your choice but usually $5.00 or more, as well as additional any spare canned food items you may have.

Meet at McDonalds near Hazel Ave and Hwy 50 by 8:30AM. A lot of us get there early and grab a coffee and breakfast sandwich.
We will caravan across the street to the Folsom Aquatic Center before 9:00 and park along the far right.

The Hi-Landers have a snack booth with chips, hot dogs, hamburgers, chili, fries and drinks.  We usually support them with buying from that as well. They have raffle prizes you can buy tickets and participate in.  The more you buy the cheaper they are.

Sometimes club members will bring goodies to share, like cookies.

Santa is there all set up to take fun photos with and the air is full of music from the greatest DJ! (Plays a lot of Country and Western!)  They usually  have tables set up with activities for the kids (big and small).

Decorate your rig! They have a cute parade where the contestants drive by the crowd slowly and show off their efforts and then someone is picked a winner!

It usually lasts until about 1PM so stay as long as you would like to enjoy the comradery and the day.

There are bathrooms on site.

**Be sure to sign the registration book under our club!**

We have won most participation in the past so let’s keep the streak going!

Be there or be square!

All,

The club has purchased 24 jackets (various sizes) and 24 pairs of socks so far.

We will also purchase canned food and hopefully some additional items.

Bringing toys to the run as your vehicle gift is great!

Bringing jackets, socks or food to the toy run is also great!

See everyone there!

Personally, we purchased about 8 jackets and 30 pr of socks for $100 at Walmart as our individual donation.  Jackets for the 8-12 age range are a little more expensive.

Those looking at jackets, TJ Maxx type places are a good option for cheaper teenager type stuff. We will get a few as part of our personal donations.

Jerry here... Blue FJ. I'll be arriving early with fresh donuts and coffee. Rumor has it Kelly & Co will be bringing bagels and such... so call it a potluck? At any rate it's your excuse to skip breakfast before heading out for the Toy Run.

Very creative and well appreciated!!!

All, remember we are meeting at the McDonalds parking lot first, then driving over to the aquatic center.  So I assume breakfast will be in the parking lot as we are preparing to head over as a group.

Thanks!

All set for tomorrow morning with OJ, bagels & cream cheese, donuts & coffee at the McDonald's parking lot right around 8AM for any early arrivals. Will have regular, decaf and a hot chocolate option.

I've heard there may also be cookies for the good kids tomorrow. wink

they shared it at the event, towards the end.  Unfortunately I didn't write it down.  But we were a large percentage of the jackets, the socks and the canned food.

Great job Posse!!!

I thought I heard them say last year's numbers and that they thought this year was even better. Guess I misheard.
