Hell Hole Reservoir. About 1/2 hour as the crow flies and 3 hours as the Jeep drives. 😀

Has anyone gone in through Foresthill? The last couple of times we met in Georgetown but going in from Auburn through Foresthill would cut the 40 minute (Google Maps time) drive to Georgetown.
According to Google Maps it's the same amount of time from Auburn to Hell Hole as it is from Georgetown to Hell Hole (2hrs 5min).
If Georgetown is more central for everyone that's fine. Either way I'm in if there are enough vehicles! 😀

Here's the directions Google Maps gives from the Starbucks near Foresthill Rd to the trail head. Not sure how accurate it is. Might need someone with an accurate odometer or GPS for some of the turns. 😀

Fastest route is route 2 via Robinson Flat. You don't have the canyon and all those 20 mile an hour turns to deal with. Google map does not take that in to consideration.

Larry, are you still in?
Josh, or anyone else interested in going?
For those that haven't been there here's a link to some pictures from last year's run.

Snow is expected in the 4500 to 5500 ft range, with considerable snow above 6000 ft. So far about 1 ft has fallen at the 5000ft range. I believe this is just above the hell hole elevation. It might make for an interesting run Sat. There would probably be very little snow, but a lot of mud. Also, it is supposed to be 79 on Thursday and 76 on Friday. Saturday will be a little cooler.

Here's the latest. They have the snow level at 5000 ft. Hell Hole surface elevation is at 4630 ft. and the trail head looks to be around 5400 ft according to this. I'll keep an eye on things.
