I promised my son Ryan to go wheeling this Summer. It hasn't worked out yet. So I need to take him. Rob told me that Signal Peak would be a nice half day run and since I've never ran it before I thought it would be cool to head up that trail. The plan is to head up early and have a little lunch at the top. There is supposed to be a nice view at the top and a watch tower or something to check out.

BTW...my son has a big fear of dogs, and since this run is for him, I'd ask that you leave your four legged companions at home. Thanks.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

I think I should be there. There's a hard way and an easy way in right? Are you taking the hard way?

Rob tells me the hard way isn't very hard. Mostly dirt road with a couple of small obstacles. So, we'll go in that way and then come down the easy way, I think.

I figure we can meet at the Auburn/Foresthill Starbucks @ 8:00 and catch others (like Keane) at the Nyak Burger King @ 8:45. We could be at the trail head (Eagle Lakes) at around 9:15.

I think this would be a great run to break in a new vehicle...like say a 4-door JK wink

Me and my dad will be running signal peak this sunday in my truck and his jeep. We will be up there about 1, if everything goes as planned and run the trail in the afternoon. But anyway, i will let you guys know what the conditions are and if there are any trees or anything in the way. Apparently it has an awesome view from the abandoned fire lookout.

No dogs!

I know you're kidding Alex. But...First and foremost it's a run for Ryan. He won't leave the Jeep if there are dogs around. He won't have much fun. I won't ever tell people not to bring their dogs on any club run. That's why I'll just make a non-dog run for my kid.

That would mean he would actually have to put it in 4wheel drive 😯

I'm planning to make this run. I'll check with Don and Chuck to see if they want to go too.

FJ Mark from the meeting might be interested in this as well. He was looking for something easy to start with.

Fred,

We should setup a time to test your ham radio.

I should be home that morning.

There is a grass valley repeater I think I can get to from my house.

There is a repeater near clear lake I know I can reach, and you should have line of sight to it also.

we may even be able to talk simplex.

I'll check my notes and post some details if you want.

Closed Mondays.

That trail is just to much for my Jeep. I'm afraid that I might break or roll 🙄
