Annual Rubicon Roundup is set for June 24 2012 - June 25 2012
I am posting this up to start the discussion and to make sure every one will be there. Last year I was the only one that made this camping trip, a few came in for a Loon lake to Wentworth Springs loop day run. The official run is Sunday Monday, but I will be heading in early like Friday night and any one is welcome to join me. I am hoping to have a big turn out and with the day run happening before this you all should be able to do it.
Some of the older members will need to chime in here to tell us newer members what the run has been before. I assume there will be a group that goes all the way through? and my full size witch may turn around and come back out Loon Lake. Either way there will be something for every one.

This run was initially a week day camping trip all the way through. A week day run supported a slower pace because of less traffic on the trail. However, I think this was a three day run. The initial creator stopped running the trail so we cut it to a two day run. The weekday aspect enables day runners to catch the group as they head out. I did day runs a couple of times, and have done overnighers several times. Because of school I haven't participated much recently but will be back on it this year. Jeff do you want to try and get across? I think we could stack the left line and get you through true big sleuce.
Like Bill, I plan on going all the way through.

I'm a So Cal guy and I was looking for some good people to do a Rubicon Run with at this same time frame. I saw an open invitation on another forum for this trip and I'd love to join you guys if it's okay. I'd like to join the 2 day group that's going all the way through. Let me know where, date and time to meet the group thats going all the way through and I'll be there with one other passenger. Thanks.
Seth.

Hi Seth. I'll be in the two day group along with at least one other rig. We'll be meeting in Georgetown and heading to the loon lake spillway entrance from there. I'll post more details after we get some kind of count for our group. So far it's BIll, Brad (me) and you (Seth). I'll reply to the PM you sent a couple of days ago and we can discuss details on your trip up here. Glad to see you post up here! We've run this trip with rigs coming from as far a way as Arkansas!

As much as I'd like to give this a go, in all honesty I don't believe the XJ will be up to the task. It'll still be without winch and lockers at the very least.
An alternative might be to catch a ride as a navigator/photog/historian for the trip.

We will do this on Saturday night as usual. Down hill is relatively easy as gravity is your friend, uphill can be a battle especially if you don't have enough gearing. Mark

I can't confirm the seat yet until I hear back from a friend, but I like having a cameraman with me!

I think it depends on your wheeling experience with the trail. If you've never been on the trail, I suggest you have at least some lift, 33's, one locker and body protection so you can run most of the trail without spotting. Let me know if you still have questions. I didn't look at your rig's spec but I've been able to run the trail on 33's without spotting.

Hello camera man! Please confirm you are a "sure thing" for the trip and I'll hold the PS for you. Bring gear, supplies and your camera for the trip and we'll meet at my house, and then return back here the next day.

If you need some help Jeff getting things ready for the transfer case and the trail I'm free this weekend.( welding, fab, morale support..........)
I almost have every thing done. I have it free standing on the coilovers. Just need to get the atlas and relocate the batterie, and make some drive lines.
