Wednesday July 25th.
‘Meeting at The Sly Park offramp Subway - 8 am.
Barett Lake is a challenging in and out trail, ending at the lake. 6.8 miles each way!
‘The plan for this run is to eat lunch at the lake.
35s, one real locker, and the ability to air yourself down and back up are required for this run.
Since this trail is an in and out run, we will be running at a “lunch at the lake” pace. That means very limited spotting and you will need to follow the vehicle in front of you. We will likely be continuously re slotting vehicles backwards if they aren’t able to keep up with the one in front of them. Ultimately it may result in a sub groups that only gets to the middle rock garden. This is perfectly fine since the lake group will catch back up on the way out. If you feel up for a fun and challenging day, post up here.
So far we have three rigs going.

Hello everyone. I am so sorry i didnt post anything last night when we got home. I know how it feels to worry about someone in my off-road family. It was 1:30 when the tow truck pulled away from droping our rig off in our driveway.
Our sector-shaft brace broke on the way from the lake. The origional work when it was placed on there 3 years ago wasn’t good. Brad had another and Jamie brought a portable power torque wrench and with a lot of muscle it got us to the edge of the Gatekeeper where it broke again. So here the guys manually steered the jeep over the rocks.
Finally got it to pavement, aired up, creeped to Hwy 50 where there was signal and called a tow truck.
I had little to no signal on the trail and unfortunately when i had signal i had time to tell Kathleen and Jeff we were broke but not enough signal to say any details. So so sorry for the confusion..
Thank you all for ur concern and offers to help. I will be more thoughtful about updates in the future. I have some beautiful pictures and will post those up with more details later!!

Guy n Lynda ended up breaking their track bar bracket. There is a good story behind why/how you can break a synergy product. I carry a spare but learned how dependent the synergy bracket is on the original factory material. I will be modding a synergy bracket for my next trail spare so it is stout enough to get someone off the trail after they ripped off their factory bracket.
We made it to the lake for lunch and hung out there a couple hours before heading out. We saw zero rigs on the trail, and only one rig at the lake. Guy was broken on the trail for over an hour. It was good no one else was up there so we could take our time.
Jamie did fantastic for his first major trail run!

Well, to continue the story on the repairs, we managed to flat tow, taking over 2 hours from Cameron Park to Sacramento, to MC Motorsports. Looked at what replacement parts were available & mods to be made with Marc. After a little more research, it’ll be better than new! The bracket that Brad had was a life saver, since it lasted for a majority of the return trip, short of the gatekeeper. If it wasn’t for the bracket & help from those present, it would still be there. Thanks again for all those offering to help, truly a formadable group of people.

We would have got you off either way. I had a couple more tricks up my sleeve. I got off Fordyce with no front track bar and no front upper control arms. 🙂
