The only weekend day that the BBQ pavillion is not reserved for the next few months is next Sunday the 23rd. It is too late to get the reservation for that day because it needs to be filed 10 days in advance. Since it's not reserved, it's on a first come basis. If you guys want, we can try to get people interested and show up on Sunday and try to get the spot. If it is already taken, we could do the horseshoe tournament and then retreat back to my house for the BBQ. What do you guys think?
I'm thinking of a Draw Pot Horseshoe Tournament, complete with cheesey trophies and maybe some prizes. BBQ could be a pot luck or the new members could use the oportunity to do their club BBQ at that event. Who's in?

Offline Sounds like we have enough interest at this point, so I'll get to work on it. I'll post details in the next couple of days. Any new members that want to do their BBQ at this event, let me know.

Offline Don't forget to post up how many people are coming and how many people are going to get into the horseshoe tournament.
If you want to do the BBQ as your membership requirement, let me know so we can coordinate it all.
After I get things figured out there may be a potluck component, I'll let you know.
I'll try to come up with a contingency plan in case of bad weather.
The plan will be to do it all at Loomis Park (I'll post directions), but we can move it to my house if need be.
The horseshoe tournament will be a "Draw Pot" where your partner is picked for you from a hat. We'll probably do two draws each, if the numbers don't get too big. We'll have a bracket system for the tournament, ultimately deciding the 2010 Posse Horseshoe Champions 8) We will have to get Fred to put up a special page with pictures and writeup (Yes, I can do the writeup 🙂 )

Offline The Plan:
We will meet at the Loomis Park at 10:00. If the BBQ Pavillion is open, we'll grab it. Horsesheos and BBQ.
If the Pavillion is being used, there is a picnic area that is seldom taken. We can grab that, there is a picnic table we can use for the food. That means you will have to bring some chairs to sit in, and somebody will probably have to bring a BBQ in case we need it. Horseshoes and BBQ.
Back-up plan, we can play horseshoes then retire to my house for the BBQ. I only live a couple of miles away from the park.
The Food:
RockinCrawler wants to do his membership BBQ, so we can have him supply the main course. This can be whatever he wants, which is usually Tri-Tip or Ribs or Hamburgers and Brauts, or whatever he feels like.
The rest of us can sign up for side dishes and plates and utensils. Depending on what the main dish is, we may also need condommints. Pack things in ice chests 
This will be Bring Your Own Drinks...
