It was suggested that I start a new thread to discuss Cal4Wheel Safety Requirements for the Sierra Trek Outer Limits run. Here is what I found on their website:
Cal4Wheel Safety Requirements
The following safety rules will be enforced for each run, and there will be NO refunds
issued to vehicles turned away for not meeting the safety requirements.
Certain events require additional equipment or have special restrictions. Be sure to
check prior to attending the event.
Roll bar or factory installed hard top.
Emergency brake, parking brake, line-lock or other redundant braking system.
Tow strap or rope (recommend rated at 2 times the vehicle weight).
First aid kit.
Jack capable of lifting the vehicle & tools to change tire.
Spare tire within 3 inches diameter of other tires, or, for tires 37” or larger, run-flats or tools to repair/reinflate tire.
Fire extinguisher with gauge indicating good/full, appropriately stored.
Seat belts for all vehicle occupants.
Antennas must be rigid or restrained in a manner to prevent injuries.
Adequate attachment points front and rear, i.e. tow hooks, receiver, etc. Tow balls are not
permitted.
Battery hold downs (no bungie cords).
Recommended equipment:
Oil/fluid spill kit

Were we also going to try to keep track of a list of items for the club to bring / have on hand ... like extra fire extinguishers, first aid kits, soft shackles, etc.? I thought Kris mentioned something like that too...
I’m not sure where or when we are doing the safety inspections but the idea is that we don’t want to send someone back to camp because they forgot something simple.
We should probably start a new thread but I will be bringing a hand full of first aid kits, 2 extra fire extinguishers, a big jack, tools, and a few gas cans

The safety inspection will be conducted at the staging area. Since we have a large group there is no need to turn someone away simply because they don't have all of the required equipment. I think we just need to look for significant or gross safety issue with vehicles such as an open cab without a roll bar. We should also make sure we have plenty of spill kits and that they are distributed amongst the Posse crew members. I'm making an outline for our drivers safety meeting that I will be happy to share after I have completed it. There is actually a lot to go over given that this is designated as a stock vehicle or beginners run. There are things we will need to discuss at the safety meeting oriented for novices.

I agree. After paying all those fees and traveling, I'd hate to see somebody get turned back because they forgot their fire extinguisher.
Like you said... Make sure the posse has enough to take care of emergencies and just look for glaringly obvious safety rule violations.
Just my two cents... I'll go back to the peanut gallery now.
I used to wheel a lot. . .

I don’t have a spill kit. Used it up on the dale roll over. Im good with everything else. I have a Bun trail welder. Will need to ask inspections if that can be used.
I have a spill kit & can bring it to the meeting this Thursday if you will be there.
I think most if not all of us will miss the meeting on Thursday. I have three spill kits so we should be fine. Thanks!
