Eldorado National Forest is closed until 5/14. Fordyce is in the Tahoe National Forest. I don't think TNF has completed their Travel Management Plan yet so they don't have seasonal closures. I checked their website and didn't find anything indicating closures.

So with the closure extended to 5/14, and the maintenance run scheduled for 5/15; what are the odds of the closure getting exteded past 5/14?

Interesting question. This is pretty much uncharted water since they've only been doing the seasonal closure for a year or two. The weather forecast looks pretty dry for the next few weeks so I'm guessing we should be ok, but it'll be close and we won't make it very far up!

Might make sense to reschedule the maintenance run so we can accomplish the intended purpose. We need a Rob report...

My buddy up in Truckee was up near Jackson Valley reservoir a couple days ago. This is near where Fordyce ends. He said there is still 8 to 10 feet of snow up there and some 15 foot plus snow drifts. This time last year, I had already run Fordyce all the way to Meadow lake. My guess is that you won't be able to get across Strawberry until mid June or later.

I agree. No sense in going if we can't get far enough in the trail to do any work. Or, we could snowshoe in! lol

How about making the 15th a pre-run, if open, and do the maintenance run later?

Sounds like that may be a good idea. May even want to do it on the 8th so we can discuss it at the mtg on the 13th.
