Cedarville - Lava Beds Monument Oct 3 - 8, 2025.|Trail Runs / Events|Forum|Gold Hills Posse 4x4

I am going to Cedarville to explore the area and check out Lava Beds Monument.  Two days of short easy hikes, 5 - 6 miles, exploring the caves in Lava Beds Monument and two days of overland trails.  I will be staying in a Airbnb in Cedarville which has 4 bedrooms - 1.5 baths - guests are welcome.  Preliminary itinerary, open to change, depending on interest.

Oct 3 - Drive to Cedarville

Oct 4 - Lava Beds hikes

Oct 5 - Lava Beds hikes

Oct 6 - Obsidian Needles Trail.  Rated 1-3/10 difficulty and 9/10 scenic.

Oct 7 - Fandango Pass Trail - New Pine Creek to Fort Bidwell Trail.  Rated 1-2/10 difficulty and 8-9 scenic.

Oct 8 - Drive home.

There are more difficult trails in the area depending on interest such as the Dismal Swamp trail. Rated 6/10 and scenic 10/10 that I would not do without other experienced drivers.
