Alright all you beef cuttin' :hack:
can dumpin', jalapeno pepper chopping weld amateur cooks out there ... this topic is for YOU!!

There was some discussion during the Christmas Party about participating as a club in the Annual Chili Cook-off with multiple entries. I know Ronie's eyes lit up as did a couple of other.

I thought I'd just throw this out there to get the interest started early, see how many "teams" there may be, and plan a strategy ... if one can.

Pour out the ideas here and see where it takes us.

OK, folks. While at 4 Wheel Parts I ran across the flyer for the Chili Cook-off. Doesn't appear to be "rules" as such so I think anything within reason will fly.

Ronie is going to contact the Mountain Goats to see if there are any other things we need to know about. As the flyer is written, you could make your "entry" at home then just warm up at the site.

It'll be our first time participating but from all I've heard it is a good time.

Spoke to one of the folks coordinating the Cook-off from the Capitol City Mountain Goats today. The rules are VERY loose. Basically they go like this ...

You can do all preparation and cooking of the Chili on the day of the Cook-off (Ice House Resort) or just show up with nothing more to do than warm over coals, stove or crockpot.

That's it ... no other rules.

I did see that many had brought overhead protection which was a good thing last year. It snowed 12 inches during the event.

Breakfast at 0900, judging begins at 1200, and all over and done at 1500.

You forgot to mention that all the food is gone by 130 so don't be late or you'll be eating from the store!

All the information is up to date however I'll not be attending. My team at work just added 8 new faces so it's going to be a work Saturday.

But I still want to try again next year.
