This is Thanksgiving weekend so many folks are no doubt busy with family, but if not this is a great time to trek around Death Valley if anyone is interested. Can drive down together or meet up there. I will be driving down Friday the 24 and returning on the 28th. I will be staying in one of the hotels but will do a night or two of camping depending upon weather etc. I plan easy to moderate runs as I try to avoid difficult runs unless with folks who know how to do them better than me, but am open to any runs depending on who is going and the interest. My agenda is open but for sure the Racetrack with possible runs including Titus Canyon, old mines, canyon trails, maybe some trails around Beatty and some day hikes.
Contact me, Jeffrey Light 916 715 1485 jeff[email protected], if interested in putting together a group.

Jeff, check out the Death Valley website, "warnings". Many roads are closed due to last year's heavy rains & flooding with damage, including those that are popular accesses to others that are not closed. They have been updating the status regularly, so the information is current. This may help you decide to hold on going until a later date or not.

I was out to the Valley last November and the majority of the trials were open. I spoke to a Ranger today and the website map is up to date. Titus Canyon and Marble Canyon are closed but could open by November. Cottonwood Canyon up to camp site 8 is open as is the trail to the Racetrack. The map shows the majority of the roads and trails open. Plenty of open trials for three days in the Valley. This trip will be a go for me unless the summer rains are any thing like last year and road closures become abundant.

We'll put this down as a maybe or partly, depending on family plans for Thanksgiving & will respond farther down the road.

The roads in Death Valley were severely damaged as a result of Hurricane Hillary. I am cancelling the trip to Death Valley as a result.
I will now be going to Anza Borrego instead. I have spoken to a park ranger and all their trials are open....same dates....if anyone interested, please contact me.
