Deer valley trail Saturday july 10th.
Staging at hermit valley. South to North to blue lakes.
Meeting at hermit valley campground at 9am and hitting the trail at 10:00am. I know some have mentioned camping the previous night. The campground is first come first serve. It is very large and will give plenty of room for whoever chooses to camp.
Amber and I will have pulled pork, Hawaiian rolls and bbq sauce to make sliders and other sides and drinks. We will stop for lunch at the first stream crossing. We will need a few minutes to warm up the pork and get things set up but shouldn’t take long.
After lunch we will continue the trail to the end at the blue lakes.

Awesome! Jeff, you still considering camping friday night?
Yes, I would camp on Friday night. I would be coming over hwy 49 and up 50. Not sure what time I would leave on Friday but we could possibly meet up in Pollock Pines if that works for both of us. I'm waiting to hear on the date of a memorial service next month so that may be the only snag for me.

have not dont the gearing since it has not been running, I went to pick up my front drive shaft awhile ago and boom the CEL came on. Fixed that problem but then probably 20 others have surfaced. Wish i had the money to just swap the motor and tranny now. After I get this thing running again it should last me awhile with all the crap I replaced so far LOL

Ok, it’s confirmed, I will be going. Where is the closest gas to the campground?
Guy, if you go up via Hwy 50 then you should top off in Markleeville. There is a little store with a gas pump on the left side of the street as you come into town. It's easy to miss so keep an eye out for it. I usually get gas in Tahoe on Hwy 50 at the Chevron or 76 station and then backtrack at short distance to take Hwy 89 to Markleeville where I top off.
If you come up via Hwy 49 to Hwy 4, then I would get gas in Angles Camp and top off in Arnold.

If you come up HWY4 there is also gas at Bear Valley, which is probably the closest to the trail head on that route ….. not saying it’s cheap…. Just that it’s closer than Arnold is on HWY4 side if you have any concerns about fuel range.
