Dang Dale. I always enjoy a trip with you in it but an AC is an essential part of living here in CA. Wish I could help but HVAC isn't my expertise. We will catch you on the next one. BTW, if you want to run up to Lost Lakes next week, me and a group of guys have Man Camp planned. Just saying.... Lol

We made it home....drove approx 110 miles with ratchet straps replacing the track bar that snapped in half....lots of death wobble...going average 15-20mph....when we got cell service we couldnt get a hold of roadside....what an adventure of a day
Sean, how and where did that happen? I made it home at 9 p.m. There are a few stories to be told from yesterdays adventure. I ended up in the lead from the second river crossing to the northern trailhead. Four of us aired up and left after communicating with Robert via radio. I have to attend a memorial service today and have 8 to 10 hours of driving roundtrip so I wanted to get home a get some sleep. I texted Robert and he said everyone else made it out okay.

There were some interesting series of events that happened on the Deer Valley trail run that I won’t get into, since I’m on my phone. But the highlights were the cooler weather, the trail conditions & of course the leadership & excellent lunch provided by Robert & Amber. Thank you. I’ll elaborate on the trail details another time soon.

Well we has the issue with the stabilizer being loose but we fixed that at lunch. We stayed behind just incase we needed to help Rufus. Sometime after the second river crossing we noticed the steering got super loose. When we got to upper blue lake we saw track bar snapped in the middle. We made it home about 2:30am.
Jeff, best wishes to you, family and friends going to the service.

Yeah, I think there are going to be a lot of stories and different perspectives on this one based on where you were at in the lineup, look forward to next meetings previous runs
Camping was awesome, Jeff made some sweet sierra nevada boiled brats and carmelized onions, trail was really fun and dispite the challenges, everyone made it off with smiles on their faces. Oh, and the lunch spread was amazing.
Highlights of the day: Ice cold watrermelon while aring up and figuring out next steps to getevery one home.
Key Learning of the day: If a JL is givving you problems, pull the battery for a minute and reboot it
There was an awesomely patient family that followed us from just past the trail start to the lunch spot, feels like 3-4 hours. I gave them a club interest card, hope Matt and family come by a meeting some time.

What an eventful day on the trail. Deer valley is such a great trail, it can really take a toll on your vehicle. And that it did. Cracked transfer case, JL that wouldn’t start multiple times, carburetor issues then a failing fuel pump and a snapped track bar. We all made it off the trail and home way later than most expected. We had so much fun and thank you to everyone that made it on this run. Amber abby and i are very excited we are officially members of Gold Hills Posse! Woohoo!

I don't know if he did, however when I dropped him off at home he said we was not going to try and tow it home, he was going to get a flatbed out there instead and just drive a car to meet them, so logistically/safety wise it should have been much better.

What a crazy trail ride day ! When almost to the campground i thought why was I driving 3 hours to just get to the trail. Got there and felt better. Headed out with the group over the gate keeper. Though i had a good line and rolled back hard on rocks and out spilled all of the trans case fluid thru a crack. The club got my jeep back to camp. Thanks Rufus for the exiting ride powered thru most of the trail then towed rest of the way to pavement.
Thanks for getting me home !
Drove rv back to the camp sunday and removed driveshafts and hooked up to rv. Rested and visited with other campers for about an hour. Took off up the very steep windy road back to el dorado hills, got home about 11 pm.
Will be some time to get the jeep running again. Anyone have a 92 231j transfer case ? Just rebuilt mine a month ago.
Heading out weds with rv and boat to eagle lake for 8 days with family and couple friends, need the rest.
Jeff, i will be passing by your area first thing weds, let me know if we can meet and will get your tow equip. Back to you. Otherwise later.

Jim, glad you got your Jeep home and that nobody messed with it. It was nice of that camper to keep an eye on it. He told me he has been going to that campground for 35 years and his wife has been going there for over 50 years. I will PM you my cell and I can meet you at a freeway overcrossing in my area if you want to drop it off on your way through town.
Thanks,
Jeff
