Hey all! I mentioned at the meeting that I am going to Poker Flat on Sunday possibly. I may no longer be doing that... but I am going to do something for sure... Read below the options. If you would like to hit up one of them in particular, let me know!
Poker Flat - Downieville - Mild. more of a forest service access road, but nice drive. Good views.
Bear Valley Loop Trail - Moderate... couple of small boulder piles, some nice inclines, a couple of "winch hills" everything has a bypass. 35s open/open or 33s open/open if you have mad skillz and good tread. 31s and a locker. Amazing views. Tight trail... expect some High Sierra Pin Stripes.
Deer Valley - Moderate to difficult. 33s and a locker, or 35s open/open with good tread.
Explore NorthSouth Road and spurs off of MET - Mild. Any stock 4x4. Just exploring really. Probably end up going to the abandoned ski resort.
I am waiting to hear from a couple guys... if they come through then we will be doing Poker Flat. If they don't come through, I will decide between Deer Valley and Bear Valley Loop (probably bear valley loop since I have done it before and potentially will be on my own), if the girlfriend wants to go along, then it will be MET.
Give me a text if you want to explore! 559-300-014four

I haven't been on Bear Valley Loop in years.
I always thought it was THE BEST trail to introduce new wheelers.
Just hard enough for a little excitement and easy enough for anybody to drive.
Completely stock rigs can take the easier routes and modified rigs can drive the Ball Pien.
I'm not one to go wheeling by myself, but that's one trail I'd consider running alone.
It's so close to the highway that you could walk out quickly if anything happens.
I used to wheel a lot. . .

Yup 100%. It has some good repeater coverage too if you end up with issues. My other club uses that trail for their Ladies Run to help introduce the ladies in the club to 4wheeling. The rule is, if there is a woman present, she has to be driving, and the husbands/significant others are allowed to be kicked out and made to walk if they get too anxious and demanding lol. Awesome awesome trail though. The 2nd winch hill can be a doozy if its wet at all. I just wish the Diablo 4 Wheelers maintained the trail better so that vehicles bigger than a Polaris Ranger could get through without pin striping.
Turns out we are going to head up close to Boreal tomorrow, up off the Castle Creek turn off of 80. One of the guys says he knows a spot with some snow on some of the trails and forest roads up there.
We are meeting at Bass Pro Shops in Roseville at 8am. leaving at 830am. If you want to go, please text me so I know to look for you! Ph number in original post. And don't be late! We won't be waiting around... My little 4cylinder needs time to make it up the pass! 😀

How was apple hill?
We found snow! It was pretty packed down in the trail. And then it got to a spot where it went uphill very quickly and turned to ice... So it went from being a little too easy to impassible lol. Oh well... got a good 4 hours of hanging out in the snow. We found one little patch of untouched snow just big enough for a rig, and the guy leading the group sunk himself in it to his frame with no lockers lol i was the only one with a winch, so everyone else shoveled out as much as they could while i setup the winchline. It was a good time... oh it was also fantastic because it was all 4runners! Haha i dont think i have ever been on a run without a jeep present outside of myself and my dad. It was weird... needed more jeep cowbell.
If we could upload photos, i would show the fun stuff! *cough kevin cough*

Seems to be working for me (as you). Check the size of your images. There are limitations, you know. 🙂
I feel.... taken advantage of.....
It's working now! At least from my laptop... maybe there is something up with my home computer... I will have to try again when I get home! Anyways... Here are pics from last Sunday! It's my new Toyota 4Runner addicts support group haha
After trying again... I am still getting the same error... "Upload URL might be wrong or doesn't exist." But it only happens on the "bigger" files. 2.2mb, 2.4mb, 3.1mb. What is the upload limit you have set? And do you have any recommendations for an android app that will edit pictures to bring them down to smaller file sizes without decreasing their quality? It doesn't necessarily need to be free.... Ideas?

Im a few years removed from android at this point but one method i used to use to reduce size of images was built into the mail app my university used. I could email an image to myself and it would give the option to reduce the size of the images before sending. Waste of data and extra steps but no need for an additional program if used rarely.
