Tomorrow, Brad, Rob and I are going to attept the infamous Fordicon run. We will start at Eagle Lakes staging area in the morning. We will then run Fordyce up to Meadow Lake. From there we will sprint around Truckee and over to the Tahoe side of the Rubicon. We will then run the Nocibur. This is going to be a fast paced run with minimal spotting and stopping. Wish us luck, it should be an adventure.

We are home. We would have made much better tiome except we had top wait over an hour on Big Sluice for a broke down bronco. Then we had to wait for another hour for a slow group to get out of the Old Sluice. Otherwise it went really well. We were off the trail before sunset. I'm glad I did it, probably won't do it again any time soon.
Breakage report: One broken wheel for me, the inner edge tore off. No other breakage for anybody, just a few new dents and scratches.

If this run was done during the middle of the week when traffic is light, we could easily start at Fordyce and finish the Rubicon in about 10 hours.
It was great to see Brad out beating his rig again, he hasn't forgot how to drive the short bus
But, you'll have to ask him about not following Miss Daisy

I feel beat from yesterday 😯 Definetly a fun run, but like John said, it was worth doing this trip once, but I don't see me ever wanting to run Fordyce and the Rubicon in one day again!!!!
Fordyce: 3 hours 50 minutes from the Eagle lakes staging area to Meadow Lake (only saw 1 other rig on the trail)
Rubicon: 6 hours 10 minutes from the Tahoe staging area to the pavement at Wentworth Springs (Could have cut 2 plus hours off that due to waiting for broke down rigs to get out of the middle of the trail)
10 hours flat to run both trails from start to finish minus the travel time beween Meadow lake and the Tahoe staging area 😈
No major hang ups at all. Brad had to winch twice on Fordyce, but that was only because he doesn't know the lines like John and I do. Brad kept up with the John and I on the bigger tires because he isn't afraid to hammer the gas pedal to get over stuff and he has 60's front and rear to keep things from going boom!!!!! At the top of the old sluice, I watched him launch him self up over a rock at mach 5 and straight into a rock with his bumper
My only damage was to the upper passenger door window frame. I hit a rock and it launched me up and over on my passenger side slamming me into a very large rock catching the window frame and denting it and destroyed my door surround and bikini top. On the Old Sluice, I was half way up and was going around a section where a tree snuck out and grabbed my rear passenger tube fender and bent it back into the tire. We hooked Brads winch up to the tube fender and pulled it back out so the rear tire would clear.
All in all, great trip and far less damage than I expected considering the speeds we were driving on the trail!!!!!

I had a great time on the trail as well. I didn't have anything break and only suffered some tube fender sratches (via a tree that rob has pics of).
While I am tired today, I had a blast and would do this run again. This is my favorite type of run. Maybe we could swap and run this in reverse next time.
This was an easy one day run. Traffic was our only hold up. I was a little frustrated in the lack of brains so far as getting out of the way when broke down. For example, the bronco could have easily been manually steered down 200 ft to a wide spot in the trail. It would only take 2 people walking along side the rig with gloves on. They could simply push the wheels to the left or right as he slowly drove down hil.
We also waited an easy hour to get down Cadilac hill. We were behind a group taking dissabled people in to the springs. It was a good cause and worth waiting for.
I winched twice on Fordyce because of poor line choices. I may have been able to avoid the first winching, but I didn't want to hold the group up trying to get through that spot. The other spot was a different story. I had just finished making fun of John for driving too slow, as he rolled right up the WH3 bypass. I got caught up on a small tree that required me winching the rest of the way up. The water crossings were deep but not bad. John actually brought some doors this time, and the water was half way up on one side.
The trail would have been a LOT tougher if Rob and John had not helped me with the lines (and Rob acting as a winch anchor).
The rubicon was fairly easy. The only real challenge was old sleuce, which we waited about an hour to get on becasue of very slow vehicles coming down. Once in it, we all made it up on our own. John and Rob's pace was pretty balanced in speed and safety. I ran in the middle, except for one chance to lead out of fordyce to the highway.
I am still amazed that fordyce had one vehicle total, but we saw more than 50 on the rubicon (could have been claose to 100). We passed more than 20 just while moving on the trail, not counting those parked and camping.
I do have pics and will post some when I get time. In our driving, we seemed to not have a lot of rubicon pics.

Wow, Nice job guys I'm impressed. Yesterday was my first time back on Fordice in over 30 years. This place now is REAL tough now on small tires. Sue, Cole/ Larry and I beat the snot out of our stuff and called it a day at the first crossing which was our goal.Damage Report: Cole, left rear quarter and exhaust. Sue, PSC monster box sound like chicken bone grinder. Joe, tranny mount, 4 lower control arm bushings and a rotational squeek that sounds like a chipmonk. Fixed my junk at the crossing and and went back to my spot on the porch. Cole did a great job in his 69 CJ. All hail the Buick 225.
