Fordyce this Sunday or Monday or the following week. Anyone want to go all the way through. The water should be low enough by then...Up for making it a 2 day trip too. We could camp half way through and drive the rest of the trail the next day. I am good either way, 1 or 2 day.

There are plenty of people out there on weekends and holiday weekends with good professional jobs and they still classify as loser drunks because of their behavior. Are all people out there losers, I guess it all depends on how you handle yourself out there! Are you courteous and get off the trail when you break or decide to take a break instead of sit in the middle of the trail blocking traffic. Do you get drunk and drive the trail. Do you egg on all the drunk idiots that decide to run the Sluice box when they are twice the legal limit for drinking and driving in California? . It is my opinion and I am entitled to it. 20% of the people out there camping on a holiday weekend are good honest people. The other 80 % are losers who are contributing to the closure of the trail some day, and the groups that consolidate at the sluice box are 100% contributing to the closure. Hell, 80 % of the people who sit around the sluice box drinking and acting like a$$'s don't even have the balls to run the little sluice!!!!!

I guess me and all the water quality experts that will be out there with me this weekend are loser drunks. 🙄

Only twice the limit ? Those would have been the well maintained ones this past weekend. Wentworth AKA "Watts" was a perfect example of why this country is in trouble. Generators stacked in the bathrooms so they could not be used, high speed runs through camp, Loud non-music,Yelling contest's until 4 am, Gun fire and fireworks. They are punks. After an old (ish) guy got fed up and spoke up a small army of women and children came to his back up and told them what A $$$$$$$ they were, it did get better. They found a stevie ray vaughn cd, generattors moved, most slowed down, fireworks and guns(except mine) put away. The yelling contest was continued after the generator was shut(not shot) off.

And that is why the trail will be closed one day. The good people who do the right thing are going to quit going on the trail because of all the "punks." I know many people who will never go back to the Rubicon because of the drinking, fighting, lack of common sense, and zero respect for other people around them. Thank god you can still go there on a week day and avoid most of the weekend alcoholic idiots!!
I think they should close the Rubicon on all Holiday weekends. We live in a national forest, and there are thousands of square miles of forest for people to camp. The only reason 80% of the people go to the Rubicon on a 3 day weekend is to get drunk and act like idiots and tear stuff up.

I know that I don't care to drive the Rubicon or Fordyce on the weekends. Even public campgrounds on the weekends are crappy. Go to the mountains, enjoy yourself, then go home and have a party. I don't go to the mountains to listen to everybody's stereo, people fighting, kids screaming, and people firing their guns at all hours of the night. That's what Rancho Cordova is for
I used to wheel a lot. . .
