Rob and I ran Fordyce yesterday (7-21)

We made the whole trail in just over 4 hours (driving time). We could have been faster but the trail was pretty rough this time, so we didn't push it too hard.

Rob found a stolen dirt bike stashed in the bushes right after the first water crossing. He called it in and sure enough, it was stolen. I'm not sure how the owner is going to get it out of there lol

Winch Hill #3 was nasty. Somebody stacked it with big (read very big) rocks. Then some other came along and cleared out the stacks. So, there were about 40 diff hangers to get over and around. I got up into the squeeze pretty far but kept hanging up my rear diff on the rocks. So, I winched the last part in the attempt to save some time.

Just a warning. Keep your rigs away from the beach at the lake. I drove down to the boat launch (clearly marked) but got yelled at by the (care taker?). So we politely moved our rigs back on the main road. Sure enough, there is a little sign that says to keep vehicles off the beach. Sorry, I thought it was a clearly marked boat launch (which it was). And we were not on the beach, just pulled off the main road.

Oh ya...Rob broke his Jeep 😛

I used to wheel a lot. . .

Winch Hill #5 looked just fine. No big rocks, just the quick climb up.

Check here for all the Sierra Trek info: https://posse4x4.mystagingwebs.....php?t=3317

You don't need a pass and we're starting early. I don't know of anyone headed in on Saturday, but I'm sure we could get you directions.
