Hi everyone,

Is there anyone interested in joining Huck and I on a Fordyce day trip? Please let us know and I will fill in the details of a meeting place in a couple of days.

Please know Fordyce is a difficult trail and you should have a rig capable of completing the trail. I would suggest a minimum of 35s and built axles. But if you are interested let me know.

Um...what?

I don't think there is any way to predict the flows, especially because flows are influenced by hydroelectric demands and because of the start of the PG&E construction project. Since the committee crossing exit is closed due to the construction, this will have to be an out and back or a full trail run.

The flows are monitored and controlled via dispatch relating to the solar ramp every morning.  The dam is no longer in spill condition.

As a result, the hydro flow reduce each morning as the solar ramps up, but then re adjusts as system demand starts to increase and offset the solar.

Ok so what I'm hearing is do to construct of the Emergamcy exit. And the current position of the sun in the morning, plus available sun spot count will affect the flow rate and water level. And the trail can only be ran at night east to west. Lollaughing

Oh I'm sorry my jeep isn't ready. I don't want to be that guy to break because of a weak spot.

If I can get my rig green stickered I'm down to go as long as there's a place to park my truck and trailer there. I've never been there so no clue...

You’d have to turn around and go back to the start. Since it is a through end to end trail.

Just checking in to see if anyone is more than interested.  I just checked the flow and its at 287 and dropping so we should have no issue crossing the creeks.

Who is in?

I saw this post so I thought I would chime in.  Today the flow is 287.  Attached is a graph showing the flow for the past 30 days and it is on a steady decline.  I anticipate the flow to be well under 300 on Saturday.  There is a web-site where we can check the flow day of.  I have done the trail several times and taken the mid trail exit.  I really want to complete the trail as it is a bucket list item for me.  So the plan is all the way through.

Still interested. I have some noise in my steering (u-joint, steering box, bushing, or?). I have had it for some time but it is worse after running Fordyce WH 5,4,3 to crossing at committee and then running back up WH 3,4,5 on a run at Sierra Trek last week. I will need to check it further before committing. I think the highest flows that I have run Fordyce on were about 180 CFS if I recall correctly (Kevin or Brian, can you recall?). I have a TJ with a 4.5 lift on 35's so I wouldn't want to hold the group up if you are comfortable crossing at a higher flow rate.

The more the merrier.  287 was the flow today.  Sub 300 is pretty manageable.

Yeah I think my power steering pump is what was chattering at me when I turn the wheel after the Sierra Trek the other week. Fixing that this weekend along with the fuel lock ring issue where it popped off the tank and I was spilling fuel for the last two hours.  Y'all have fun.

We are home. It was an eventful day but a good day on the trail. We were off trail at 6pm but dinner and shenanigans didn’t get us home until 10pm.

Um...what?
