Unfortunately I’m not going to be able to make this run but I’m wondering who has gone on Fordyce in the snow. Several years ago my son and I went in by ourselves (in one rig --- not smart!) when there was snow on the trail. Due to the tracks, we knew rock buggies had gone in ahead of us. We only made it as far as that off camber spot with the very steep cliff on the left. We turned around right before that point. Two other rigs (Toyotas) were coming in just as we were about to turn around. We let them pass us. After looking at where we turned around, which was not easy and took some time, they decided to try to go in farther. Later in the day we saw them while we were airing up. They said they only made it fifty yards past where we turned around and it took them an hour to get two rigs turned around. My advice for this run is to only go if you have enough but not too many rigs (turning around can be a major problem, especially with lots of rigs), be prepared mechanically and be prepared to sleep in freezing conditions should the need arise. Do not go on this run unless you have very warm clothing and be sure to carry sleeping bags for each person in your rig. Just my 2 cents worth.

I've ran Fordyce in the snow many times. Both fun and scary.
One year the off-camber spot was covered in about 3" of ice. I started way up high and drove very slow. By the time I crossed I was just about an inch from the edge. My buddy Rob decided that the slow speed made you slip more, so he drove it fast. He slipped less but it took some big Cojones to gun it across there.
I used to wheel a lot. . .

1 week away! Who's still in? If there's snow, then we will just see how far we get with the number of vehicles. That off camber spot was fixed a few years ago.
John's right, I can't give an estimate on the unknown. Never make firm plans for after a run.
Dress warm. Dress in layers. Bring plenty of food and water. Bring sleeping bags and blankets. If we are buried in a blizzard, we will dig and winch our way out.
The following were interested. Please confirm if you will make it.
Me, Guy and Lynda (?), Darrell and Jill (?), Gil and Betty (?), Jeff Sharkbyte (?), Greg (?), Josh (?), Rayzor (?), Bret (?), anyone else?

You're killing me Bret. I have been very busy and gone a lot lately so I'm staying home tomorrow to catch up and get things ready for the holidays this weekend. I would really love to go and then you go and post that. You're killing me, but have a great time!
