This will be an in-and-out introduction to Fordyce. The plan will be to run to the first river crossing, have lunch, and then head back out the way we came in. This is one of the easier sections of Fordyce and will give you an idea if you want to attempt a full Fordyce run in the future. We may cross the river depending on flow.

Trail Rating: Difficult

Meet at Nyack Shell Gas Station at 8:30am.

The following requirements will be in addition to the Club minimum requirements

  • Minimum 35" tires
  • One locker
  • No metal valve stems (they break easily in rocks)
  • No stock Dana 35

Post up if you are interested.

Count us in!  This sounds wonderful.  Our niece Maelynn comes out to see us and we might have to pick her up that day but we are not sure her dates yet.

Fordyce Creek is moving this year! If the flow stays up we won't be crossing but it will be fun to watch. I believe ~280cfs is the max for crossing (correct me if I'm wrong).

Kevin,

I am afraid I don't have enough experience for a run like this.  However, if you or anybody else needs somebody to ride with them to help out please let me know.

Hey Kev,

I'm confirmed, and Robert will be riding passenger.  Quick note, I won't be at the club meeting on Thursday due to business travel.  If you need anything shoot me a text or give me a call.

Thanks,

Jason

Checked the flows. They dipped below 100cfs for about a week (crossable) but back up to around 500cfs now (not crossable).

We can eat lunch by the river. smile
