OfflineI'm not trying to discourage anybody from running any trail, I just think they should have a realistic view of the challenges that await them. I NEVER said that Fordyce is really scary, or that it is guaranteed to break your rig, or that it will cause you pain and death. Fordyce IS a challenging trail that is doable with 33 inch tires, two lockers, a good attitude, and some driving skill. Just don't go out there thinking it's the same level as Hell Hole. Fordyce has bigger rocks, steeper climbs, narrower chutes, and deeper water. All of which is completely doable by the before mentioned rigs.
I used to wheel a lot. . .

OfflineI was fishing John with my 5 rating. If you had any trouble getting through hell hole, then this trail is not for you.
I think we will make Nyack by 730, so we should make the trail about 8.
It looks like it's just the three of us, so we should be fine on timing. Just, or Kevin, if either of you have a spare car battery with a strong charge can you bring it? I'll be carrying my welder.

OfflineI don't have an extra battery but if the situation requires welding I can pull mine out.
Since it's just the three of us would you guys want to meet in Rocklin and caravan up? There's a new Starbucks at Sierra College and 80. Just a thought.
I will have one open seat if anyone is interested. I will be riding with upper doors and windows off.

OfflineWish I was brave enough to risk it with my new Jeep, but I want to shake it down a few times first. I have done one small trip on it and it worked flawlessly but now I have stuff to tighten up and a couple of more things to add. Looking forward to a Rubicon run, maybe Old Sluice and back, and then a Fordyce first water crossing and back. Then I will be more confident to press farther runs.

After Barrett I'll offer a rubicon loop. It will be a great next step!
