I finally have a USFS soil scientist willing to go for a ride with us on strawberry.  As they typically do, the forest service wants to bring some additional people along. If anyone is available mid-week please post up/text me. Dates are TBD but sometime in the next 2-3 weeks.

I'm traveling for work next week, but otherwise should be able to make it if you provide me a couple days' notice!

And I can bring up to 4 additional people (3 is likely ideal).

Run on strawberry was completed but we will be doing a second run to go to the washout on long canyon again. Date TBD.

Strawberry run was a success. The soil scientist used to drive a cj5 in college so had a decent understanding of what we do/want to do. He signed off on pretty much everything besides the braided trail ideas. In short, I need to write up a work plan with more details but we have approval to bring a mini-excavator through the trail, establish gate keepers, add signage, block off braided routes, establish dips/water bars, and generally fix the damage from the Caldor dozer line. Might get permission to do some initial water bars in November else work would be planned for 2 phases in 2025.

Excellent work Kris!  I appreciate both your efforts and leadership on this.  Please keep us posted!

This is awesome!  I look forward to what we can do.

Is there any wiggle room in this action report that will allow for us to be able to get some trees?

I did ask about tree planting and that is a question the soil scientist and rec officer were fine with but will need approval by a few specific people who haven't been included in this work effort yet.

How can I help this get done?  I will work with you on all this as well.

Yes, draft up a 1 page plan of what you want to accomplish. I will help you turn this into the work proposal we will send to the forest service for approval.

I've got the draft. How do you want me to send it to you?
Thanks,

L girl
