It's almost time to start planning a Hammers run. Unfortunately I will probably NOT be going this year. I will miss it A LOT and be so jealous of those that get to go. But financially, there are just more important things to pay for this year. The Hammers really are pinacle of the four wheeling season and I urge any of you to go check them out some time. Just don't whine about body damage, breakage, or getting stuck on the trail for long periods of time.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

I don't think I will make it this year either. Between Maui in January and the possibly buying a new RV, I won't have the money.

Doubt I will make it either. I am seriously tossing around the idea of selling my Jeep and buying something for just hunting. Just trying to figure out if I will get more for it by parting it out or selling it as is?

You're all over the map. 😀 You thinking like a side by side type of thing or just a milder build on a Jeep?

Thinking of a milder Jeep that I am not working on all the time. I am thinking maybe 35's with a little lift. I already have a side by side (Yamaha Rhino)

Rob, You just got your Jeep built up...7 year itch ❓
I just want to get mine driving good again so I don't miss out on any wheeling next year 8) I think I only ran Fordyce 4 times and Rubicon 4 times...I want to at least double that next year.

Better than I did.... I got on Fordyce once or twice and Rubicon once this year. Was on the way up to Barrett with Lee and Brad when the Jeep decided it wanted to be parted out....

Don't think I'll be ready for it this year either though by the way (Hammers). Hoping that with some luck, I'll be able to get it out by next Summer. Lots of work to do though to get it ready!

Out in the garage collecting parts....

Rob, just looking for something different or running out of stuff to do on the rig? Seems like you just got it done the way you wanted!

As for selling it, if you can get close to what you're looking for selling it outright - I'd do that. Parting it out will probably get you more money, but it's a pain in the @ss. Tearing things apart isn't really a big deal, but dealing with people's b.s. left and right is a major pain. I had almost the entire Jeep sold two or three times, once with a full deposit and people kept backing out on it. It's finally pretty much all gone now, but what a pain. Only things left of the rig remaining here are the front axle, soft top, front springs, trackbar and some stains on the concrete. I pulled a few things that weren't going with it like the new seats, winch, compressor, radio and CB. The biggest annoyance of it all though is the nickle and diming that people pull. Everybody wants $1000 worth of parts for $100 🙄 If you do decide to part it out, I actually found Craigslist to be somewhat easier to deal with. I sold parts through Pirate, Jeepsunlimited and Craigslist with pretty good success, but had the most problems with people on Pirate going back and forth. If you do use Craigslist, I got to the point where I put a disclaimer on the ad that if people were low-balling or just being stupid that I'd just erase their emails without responding. I also didn't like a lot of strangers coming to my house checking out what I had either.....

It's a given that Alex would be there. He goes every year. 😀
