February 5, 2011

Meeting at Pollock Pines Subway 830 and departing at 9AM.

This is a casual day - everyone is welcome. We usually try to park where snow play can occur. If you arrive later, just drive up until you see us parked!

Bumping this, less then two weeks away.

Cole and I will be attending. No sleds 🙁
Might be bringing the Dodge.

Scott do you still plan on doing your membership BBQ at this run? If so, you just need to bring the meat. If you need a big BBQ to cook on i have one i can bring.
Everyone else please bring something to go along with the BBQ. Thanks.

Not sure what I will bring, will wait and see what we need.

Talked to Scott at this weekends run and he will be in Tahoe the day of the road patrol. I suggest other food plans be considered.

Bob will be bringing his fire pit.

We should be there as well, with manual sleds. Maybe Joe and George can have a king 'o the hill challenge again?

Brad, thanks for the heads up about Scott.

Change of plans on the food. Bring what you want. I WILL bring my BBQ so if you would like to cook something, the Q is there to use.

Still no sleds. (snowmobiles)

I love these runs but will have to miss the first one. My daughter April was invited to sing with the State High School Honors Choir that same weekend up at Humbolt University.

Have fun guys! I'll be all over that "King of the Hill" title for sledding in March!!!!!

I'm planning on being there with my wife and dog.

As it is my first time, it looks like a "fend for yourself" kind of affair so far as food and drink go ... though the idea of bringing something to grill certainly sounds good!!

Anything else a "must bring"? I'm a registered First Responder so I'll bring my pack with me in the event we get called out on something more serious.

My son has a basketball game, we won't be able to make the run.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

I have not done one of your Road Patrols before. I don't have a winch on my Jeep yet so my recovery options are limited. I'm willing to come to help out if I can though. Please advise is this would be helpful.

Josh, do you have some kind of recovery points on your rig, if you got stuck we could strap you. Also, we don't usually go in to far to set up and count. So I would think you will be okay.

I haven't had anyone mention the need of the BBQ, so I think I won't bring it, and bring the Jeep instead. Unless someone chimes in. 😀

Does anybody know what the snow conditions are like up there? (With all the good weather we have had).

I can get subway so Larry can bring the jeep.

It snowed some this past weekend so we should have a combo of solid and fresh snow.

Sorry all, Ronie and I won't be getting the opportunity to meet you all this Saturday (2/5). The Cherokee build is not going as fast I'd thought/hoped/wished. Planning on attending/participating in the March 5th Patrol, however.

Truth is, I'm not as fast at this as I used to be ... sigh.

I have not been on a run withyour group, but I would like to join in this weekends fun if possible. Is there any paper work I should have ready before this Saturday?

Thanks

One of the officers will have a waiver for you to sign when you all meet at the start.

Anyone else bringing snowshoes? I picked up a pair last year and only got to go out once. I'm planning to bring mine and go for a short hike.

I know REI rents them. They're not very expensive for a weekend rental.
