Last night at the meeting, Marc brought up their Saturday March Madness sale. The are offering our club $100 in gift cards if we can get 10 vehicles to show up, or a winch if we can get 20 vehicles to show up.
Is there any interest in trying to make these objectives to get the club stuff for the raffle? They are supposed to have a sale this day as well for those of you who couldn't make the meeting.

I tried, but as usual, those morons don't know what they are talking about and they don't stock anything they advertise. Plus, I can buy the same products on the internet for a lot less than their sale price. Example, Amsteel 3/8 winch line from 4wheel parts is regular 329.00, todayβs sale was 293.00...If I buy the line straight from Amsteel off their web site, it is 253.00(no tax) and 13.00 shipping..$266.00 shipped to my door....Almost 50.00 cheaper than 4wheel parts sale price!!!!
Their counter person wanted to argue with me that there is no way you can run a 24 inch shock on a Jeep with 40 inch tires π I guess if it doesnβt tell them that you can do it in their parts catalog then it isn't possible π π π π π
I know they have a couple guys their that know their stuff and they should work the counter, not the book worms...

I agree, there are some things that you can get good deals on there..

But, 4Wheel Parts did me right on my wheels, so I guess it's just a matter of smart shopping.

What kind of rope did you end up buying? I bought the Amsteel 3/8's in 100 foot.

What does a "24 inch shock" mean? Is that compressed length?

24 is the extended length.....The guy kept telling me that the only way you can run a 40 inch tire on a TJ is with 6 to 8 inches of lift and I would need a 33 inch shock for the correct travel..He couldn't grasp that I only have 5 1/2 down travel and 5 1/2 up on my rear 24 inch shocks..He insisted that there was no way I could get enough flex from that π They would roll over and die if they knew John was only running an 18 inch shock on the rear of his jeep
Maybe I'm smokin crack, but it sure doesnt look like a 24 inch shock is limiting my rear flex in this picture

There is no such thing as full up travel. Up travel is determined by your suspension set up and shock length. All bump stops are really designed for is to stop the shock from bottoming out and getting damage....I have full up travel with mine too. My shock is stopped by the bump stop about 1/8 of an inch from full compression.
