Sorry for the late notice, but found out the Highlanders are not doing their chili cook-off on 18th, so moving this to the 25th, which is date of their patrol.

Sat. Mar. 25, 2023   8:30 am – 4:00 pm-ish

Sat. Mar. 18, 2023   8:30 am – 4:00 pm-ish

Meeting at the Subway/Shell station in Pollock Pines off of Hwy 50 and Sly Park exit.

Pollock Pines Subway/Shell Station
6529 Pony Express Trail
Pollock Pines
CA 95726

Meet at 8:30am for drivers' meeting and sign-in; we will leave at 9:00am.  Will plan on having lunch around noon or so (depending on the chili) and start packing up around 2:00pm - 3:00pm depending when the afternoon wheelers get back. Dress for a day in the snow and cold.

Let the beans / no beans battle begin!

Please post below if you are attending.

Other notes:

We will use the club's HAM PosseV2 frequency for communications, so bring your HAM radios.

General things to remember to bring:

-Your best chili!

-Tables

-Chairs

-Fire wood

-Warm Beverages

-Water (cold weather is very dehydrating)

-Easy-up

Not sure about this one yet, but I have a 2 burner camp chef that can be used whether I am there or not.

Tentatively updated the date of this based on when Highlanders are doing their chili cookoff. Will post an update when confirmed.

Yes as of right now, Shane and I will both be there.  Weather looks good on Saturday and hopefully there will be some fresh snow to play in.

I will be there with some bison chili. anyone else bringing some?

Their website still says lunch TBD and the person I was coordinating with won’t be there so I can’t tell how this will go yet. I’m fine crashing their run though so no worries.

Finally home and unpacked. Gerald and I were last ones off the trail. He Rob and I helped several stuck vehicles get off the mountain late in the afternoon. It was a long day but lots of fun. Thanks to Kris and Amber for awesome chili!

Chili was delicious. Great club members to hang with for the day, even better. Im happy we were able to be on the trail to help out those multiple rigs stuck. They would have been in a bad situation without us there to help. Gerald was putting his kenetic recovery rope to work! Pulling out a full size chevy multiple times
