Anyone interested in a Mid-July in and out week day run to buck island and back? There is a group from Michigan that I'd like to see if we could meet up and have lunch with at buck.
Buck from Loon is an easy run in under 4 hours, especially on a weekday.
Any interest?
We should be back off the trail by 5 or 6.

I suggest we do a later, slower paced run. Or, you should hit up the new Rubicon Round-up run dates unless you are comfortable with a good pace.
The reason I say this is that I'll only have one day off in the week so I plan to run in to that group I discussed earlier and then run back out to be home before 8 or so. It will be up to you if you feel comfortable with the pace, but I believe worst case the run would be to Buck Island and back in a day, plus meeting their group for lunch.
Some people can make Buck Island in a few hours while others take two days to get there. The bigger question is what you feel comfortable with. I will have the normal support devices with me, but plan to run from loon to buck island in under 4 hours.
I don't know the dates yet, but it's probably around July 18th.

anyone want to do a 2-3day run? all the way to Tahoe or maybe to the springs and back? leaving Mon or Tue. I usually camp at Wentworth the night before.

Sorry, I've been in Denver the past few days. It looks like Kevin, John and myself will head up for a day run to the Rubicon. We may meet up with a pair of rigs from Michigan that I've spoken with, but it's not a big deal if we don't see them.

I want to go as well. I think you maybe a little fast for me. I am going to plan on going up sunday and camping on the trail. I will see you up there for lunch at buck If that is cool. I dont mind wheeling by myself and I wont hold you up that way. 🙂

Where are you planning on camping? what time Sun? I was thinking of driving up Sun. afternoon to camp at Wentworth then hit the trail in the morning.
then again...I'm thinking of heading to Deer Valley just to see what's up with that trail. The last report on Pirate said there were a bunch of trees blocking things 😀

I am heading up right now. we will be camping on the trail as far as we feel like going in? We might camp at the little Sleuce

Fun day! We found Jeff camping at Buck. He followed us for a while and then turned around when it got too tight. We went all the way through. Some snow patches at the top but nothing difficult.
John shouldn't be too far behind me. He can get the spammer.
I'll post some pics soon.
