Also on the calendar is a Turkey Shoot on November 5th. I do plan to sponsor this event to be held off of North-South Road via the Mormon Emigrant Trail. Several locations exist in the area, so I will have to spend a day scouting for the best. One is suppose to have a steel cable strung up for targets, some are littered and abused. Having never attended a shooting event, it will take some research to figure out the events and scoring. One event that I'm thinking about is called Shooting Poker. We string up a deck of cards and you try and shoot the best poker hand.

I'm assuming that some club members own and will bring Rifles and Pistols to share for the event. I'm also assuming that Shotguns with clay targets will not be included unless a club member has the supplies and knowledge to share. Bullets do cost money, so there will be a tally and some cost sharing involved. Also a potluck, chili cook-off is to be included.

At this point, only myself and Keane have shown interest. Perhaps with a little luck and a lot of begging, we can get Rob to come, give lessons and keep us safe. The event is 8 weeks away, so I don't expect members to confirm their attendance, but it would be nice to get an estimated headcount including significant others which "might" attend. If there is little interest, I will be forced to cancel the event.

Remember it will be Nov 5th and maybe snow. A second location could be Spenceville Wildlife Area, 20 miles east of Marysville if the weather is extreme.
